The location is great. We appreciated the spa area, but there was some sort of generator outside which could be heard all night so half of our group was unable to sleep properly. The staff at the restaurant seemed in a hurry though, would be nice if we didn't feel like we needed to move.the bill came super fast without us asking.

I was extremely disappointed in my stay at Mammoth Mountain Inn, to the point that I sent them an email directly to express my frustration. This was my first time at Mammoth Mountain Inn, and my expectations were high. But my experience was so awful that I will not return ever again. Firstly, regarding my room: I paid nearly $250 to book a two-bed hotel room for one night. Based on the website, I expected a room in the beautiful main building. I had no idea there were multiple buildings with hotel rooms on the property, as the website doesn't reflect this, and we ended up getting assigned to room 919. The building looks like an old motel. We struggled to find it at first because the front desk associate that checked us in drew a map to the wrong building. While the room was clean, it certainly was not worth more than $100, especially during summer when you have more open rooms in the main building. I feel like I drastically overpaid for this room, and it doesn't even have a mountain view! We just overlook a messy alleyway. I had no idea when I booked that this would be the room I was assigned, and I don't understand why anyone would be okay paying $250 for it. Next, regarding dinner at the Mountainside Bar and Grill, in the main building: If you're going to charge $23 for a cheeseburger, your cooks should be able to cook it properly. I ordered it medium-rare and received medium-well. I dined with a friend, who was served water in a dirty glass from a dirty carafe (pictures attached) and who had to wait until after food was served to remind our waiter that she had ordered a soda. I have more than 15 years' experience working in restaurants, and I'm not complaining just for the sake of complaining. Your prices would suggest a certain standard of cleanliness and professionalism that I did not see tonight. We didn't know that the waiter who greeted us actually worked there at first because he is just wearing an untucked black shirt and jeans. The table next to us was also having issues, complaining to each other that the chicken is over-seasoned and the salad dressing they ordered tastes strange. We were planning on doing breakfast at the restaurant before checking out, but there's no way I'd spend more money for that low level of food quality/cleanliness. In total, I've spent more than $350 now to sleep in an alley-view motel room and to go out for dinner and be served overcooked food and dirty glassware from an inattentive waiter who blends in with the customers. I've been all over the country and I've stayed in myriad hotels. I expected this one to live up to the hype that I saw online, but instead I'm deeply disappointed. This is not an acceptable guest experience, and I will not be returning. I was hoping that the email I sent would have gotten a proper response from management, but it's been over a week now and the only response I received was basically, "Sorry, we'll let management know". I'm not looking for a refund; I'm looking for accountability and recognition that you all overcharged and underperformed. At this time, I would not recommend anyone stay at Mammoth Mountain Inn. It's not worth the money you'll spend, and they don't seem to care.

This is clearly a very neglected and outdated hotel that puts its efforts into the lobby and the larger rooms/chalets based on the pictures. I stayed here for 2 nights for work and wish I would’ve booked elsewhere. My room was completely run down. Looks like a Motel level of quality and attention to cleanliness/detail. The shower was so gross with outdated grout and tile with very dirty caulking. Felt like I should wear sandals while I showered. Baseboard was falling off, nasty grime covered walls and water stains all over the bathroom sink. Stains all over the carpets. My door shakes constantly whenever someone opens their door. I took pictures. You be the judge. Oh, and apparently they charge $600 a night (probably during snow season). Complete rip off. Breakfast buffet wasn’t worth the $22, potatoes were cold, OJ wasn’t being restocked. I got a to go dinner at the restaurant, never got my coke after asking two servers. Walked away after 10 minutes. You’d think this place was a 4 star hotel with their $40-50 dinner plates.

We are here in the summer, so I can only image what it must be like when the mountain is covered in snow, but even so, we really enjoyed our time here. It's great for biking trails, and very close to Yosemite. #pet-friendly options.

Thank you Bryan for upgrading us to one of their loft suites. Luckily it was pretty slow and they had those available. What a great view to wake up to, Mammoth Mountain right there outside your screen door. The only downsides are no AC (not a problem most of the year) and potential altitude sickness (the base of the mountain is at over 9000ft elevation). The kid at the gift shop seemed stoned or suffering from altitude sickness as he didn’t want to give us the food we’d just bought, thought the rest of the staff was super friendly and hospitable.
