Fitness and recreation center offering exercise machines and a gym, plus an indoor heated pool.
The lap pool at the Grand Valley Recreation Center is typically maintained at 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit (27-28 degrees Celsius). What are people saying (AI review summary)? The rec center generally receives positive reviews for its facilities and value. Many commend the private swim and boxing lessons, noting their effectiveness and quality, with specific praise for Bobby. The indoor pool is popular, especially for children, with toddlers having a great time. Patrons appreciate the modern and spacious design, friendly staff, and the variety of amenities including large weight rooms, a hot tub, basketball court, and pickleball. Membership passes are frequently described as cheap and offering good value, with convenient weekday hours. However, a significant negative point is the weight room, which some found overwhelmingly filled with strong 'man perfume' or body spray, leading to breathing difficulties and an unpleasant experience. Other minor issues mentioned include patrons dropping weights, occasional rude behavior from other members, and less favorable weekend hours. Despite the issues in the weight room, some users plan to continue using the private lesson offerings.

Private swim lessons worked out well. I had two of my boys take them. The private boxing classes are great. Bobby is a great guy. Unfortunately the weight room was filled with men who were so doused with man perfume that I couldn’t breathe and almost had an asthma attack. The perfume is so strong that it coats the mouth and nose as if you ate it. Even putting tissue over my nose and mouth didn’t help. One guy was dropping weights on the machines from the top as if he was trying to break it. It was so difficult to get in a work out with stuff being dropped and the axe body spray in my mouth. Since they don’t let you try it out I was forced to buy a month. I went once and decided the weight room was too stinky with man perfume. I also had to deal with a couple of teenage girls staring and mocking me. One hour was all I could do. I’ll keep paying for the private lessons for my kids but the weight room isn’t anything worth paying for. Since the private lessons aren’t included in the membership we can still do those classes.
Went to the pool for an hour and a half and my toddler had an absolute blast. Took a nap 2 seconds after pulling out of the parking lot!
Very nice Rec Center! Indoor pool, very modern and spacious. Meeting rooms are large and the views are outstanding!
Nice place. Big weight room(s), pool, hot tub, basketball court, pickle ball. Friendly staff and fair prices for monthly usage. Highly recommend. Weekend hours eh, but weekday 5A to 9P!
I love our rec center. The kids love it here too. A membership pass is so cheap. So totally worth it.
