I love the pool and have been going there since I was a child. The only thing I wish they would do is spray out their shower rooms and around the pool throughout the day. Every time my family goes there, there’s always clumps of hair around the pool, benches, and in the shower area. All they would need to do is just have somebody spray each shower room every once in a while and around the pool to get rid of the clumps of hair that people track into the pool. Other than that, staff is always really friendly and knowledgeable. Their lobby is always kept really clean and the pool is a fun and safe place for my kids to swim during the summer and winter months.
For the most part, it's a great place to be. Only issue I have is there's an older lady that works there that really enjoys picking on people and the shoes they wear. On separate occasions she's gotten after both my boys complaining their shoes weren't safe and they needed to stop working out. She said no open toes or heels. Mind you, my boys shoes were not open toe or open heels but she still threw a fit. Thinking about filing a complaint. She is constantly watching other people working out, being nosey about what people wear. If she doesn't stop, she will be why I stop going to the Y.
My daughter has taken all her swim lessons there and her instructor Susan was amazing. We have also done multiple sports programs and it is always a blast for my kids. Love this YMCA!
Lack of maintenance and love. The focus here is pool and classes. So much broken equipment. Rust on bars and kettle bells. Leaks in ceilings. I have told staff going on two years now. Closed on Sundays. Outdated equipment. Need new tbar and hack squat. Not worth the money. I have not seen any supervision or cleaning in weight room. I saw a teen jumping up and down on lat pulldown cable. Asked staff to do something. No action. Parking is outright dangerous with soccer nearby. Staff said they can’t do anything about it. Staff is rude and I asked them about these issues and the lady with glasses at desk laughed at me. Can’t recommend.
Ladies at the front desk are very nice, here's the big issue... Open showers this isn't high school and it's extremely uncomfortable.... They were nice enough to let my son into the back shower right before they closed but the guy that was in the back cleaning the bathrooms was a complete a****** and made my son get out of the shower while he still had soap and his hair... Everyone was told that he was going back there but this guy insisted on getting him out. It was definitely a bad experience except for the ladies in the front.
