What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the pool are mixed, but generally lean negative, particularly regarding its suitability for young children and the conduct of the lifeguard staff. Several patrons report the pool is not toddler or small-child friendly, citing a lack of a kiddie pool, strict and seemingly counterproductive rules about floatation devices (not allowed in deeper areas, even with parental supervision, or requiring children to be in 'arms reach' at all times), and restrictions on playing with water features. A recurring complaint is the 'overzealous,' 'rule-crazy,' 'obnoxious,' or 'entitled' teenage lifeguards who are perceived as rude, inconsistent in rule enforcement, and prone to yelling at children. This behavior often led to an uncomfortable and confusing experience, preventing adults and older children from enjoying the deeper sections of the pool or using the diving board. While one reviewer praised the staff's vigilance with teens, clear water, and quick mess cleanup, others describe the pool as 'filthy' with various debris, snot-like substances, and bacteria floating in the water. Despite a low entry fee of $4, many concluded that the negative experiences outweighed the value, advising others to seek alternatives.

Great for older kids but not super toddler friendly. Really wish they had a kiddie pool. They only allow floaty kids in the 3 ft area.i was told my toddler could only go in the deeper side with me if he took his floats off.. seems counterproductive especially when there’s no accommodation for little ones. Also wouldn’t allow my oldest to wear his life jacket in the deep end.

I try to bring my grandkids here a couple of times a week during the summer. They always have fun, and while I try to keep my eyes on them at all times, they are teens, so I really appreciate the vigilance of the lifeguards. I've never had an issue here. The water is clear and looks clean. People leave messes, but the staff clears those messes quickly. As far as staff, just like everywhere else in this world, you get what you give. If you're rude, you get rudeness in return. If you're polite, you get politeness. Legion Street Pool is an awesome place to spend a hot summer day. Bring snacks, have fun, and be nice!

This pool has always looked so inviting!! However looks can be deceiving. For starters, it was filthy. Like this is the most disgusting pool I have ever swam in. Stuff that looks like snot, spit, bacteria was floating everywhere. Dirt, grass, paint chippings, you name it. But I had already paid and wasn’t about to waste the money. So I had my three toddlers with me. This is NOT a small child friendly place. I wouldn’t say child friendly at all. It is ran by obnoxious teenagers who are rule crazy. Their goal is to be so strict & annoying that the customers leave so they don’t have to do their job. One rule was that my toddlers (with their certified life saving floatie devices ON) had to be in arms reach the entire time. Now I am all for being there and watching my kids regardless of age. But when they can’t swim a because of how close we have to be is ridiculous. How do you think they will ever learn to be independent?! Second, WITH SAID FLOATIES & ME they were not allowed to go in the deep end. (Okay, I can see this one’s point). Third, there is a water pipe that is made of pure steel (not going anywhere) that shoots water into one end. The kids love putting their hands and feet in it to play. Was told they could not even do that. Please tell me how they are going to hurt the steel pipe? Or how they are going to hurt themselves by playing with the water coming out? Not like they were climbing on it! Fourth, the hatefulness of the teen staff is ridiculous. Angry, evil looks and yelling at the children constantly about something. Now I totally get NO RUNNING at the pool. That is big safety issue. But I feel they can address their parents after asking the children so many times. No one should yell like that at a child that is not theirs. It was no fun. It was filthy. Save your four bucks a person and go ANYWHERE ELSE.

Entitled teenagers, ruins the pool experience. 4 bucks is okay if you can ignore the rude comments and it’s weird some of the lifeguards enforce the rules a little too strict. And others don’t even watch. Just a weird uncomfortable confusing experience.

Nice pool. A bit cold but not unusable. It has anywhere from 3 feet to 12 feet. Nice open areas to lay out and not too busy. The only issue I had was I paid good money to swim here and the lifeguards are kids and very overzealous. We were not allowed to be in the deep parts unless we were “jumping in and getting right back out”. I’m 6 feet tall. I don’t want to swim in 4 foot deep water. I want to be in the deep parts and was not allowed to be. They also forbid my 5 year old daughter who’s still using swimmers to play anywhere other than the shallow parts even with us right there. They wouldn’t allow anyone to use the diving board at all. Not a great first experience for me and I probably won’t come back. Do better guys…seriously. I understand safety but not for the sake of just being lazy or unnecessarily overbearing on silly rules.
