What are people saying (AI review summary)? This swimming facility is highly praised for being a great place for swim meets, exercise, and general swimming. Reviewers consistently highlight the friendly and hardworking staff, including specific coaches like Leah, and commend the pool's cleanliness and good maintenance, noting it's heated in winter. Ample restrooms, showers, and changing areas with lockers are available, along with a Suitmate in the lobby. However, some minor drawbacks include blinding sun from the bleachers mid-morning, limited parking, and the building showing some signs of wear (peeling paint, chipped tiles, intermittent sink issues). Spectators are advised to bring a lawn chair for comfort and dress in layers due to potential temperature variations. Overall, it's considered a highly functional and enjoyable facility, with a strong desire for similar venues in other areas.
Reviews
Same set up as many indoor/outdoor seating areas for big swim meets. The sun was blinding from the bleacher side mid morning… but if you sit right outside the building you can catch a breeze and dodge the sun. There were ample restrooms for visitors and swimmers as well. No complaints… except the limited parking area.
Good pool for swim meets!
Loved it. A great place to exercise and swim. Everyone is super friendly.
I've been bringing children to swim practice and coming to swim myself for almost a year. Most of the staff and coaches are incredibly friendly and hardworking! Coach Leah is a standout favorite as she's amazing at working with children. The pool itself is incredibly clean and well maintained. They heat the swim area during winter, it can get overly warm during summer. If you come to watch, I reccomend layers. Poolside vending machines offer a few drink and snack options. Lots of bleachers for spectators. (Pro tip: you can bring a lawn chair for better comfort.) The building could use some repairs (peeling paint, chipped tiles), but overall pretty good. Plenty of showers with plastic curtains in front. The bathroom has three restroom stalls. (Swimmers frequently use them to change.) Some of the sink faucets have intermittent issues, but there's always a working one. The changing area has a bank of lockers which they'll provide a basket for if you ask at the desk. They don't sell locks onsite. The lobby features a Suitmate to spin most of the water out of your suit, trophies, memorabilia, city notices and an event calendar. Most of their restrictions have been lifted, but you can check the website or swim team's Facebook page for updates. (They're also posted on the door.)
I love swimming here. Clean, well-kept, nice employees. We need a Natatorium like this in Gulfport.
