What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool receives mixed reviews, primarily concerning its inconsistent accessibility. Many users report highly limited and unreliable operating hours, often due to staffing shortages (lack of lifeguards leading to closures or rapid capacity limits). Communication is a major point of frustration, with outdated website information, incorrect phone numbers, and staff often unsure of opening times. Despite these issues, the pool itself is generally described as decent, nice, and a good size, suitable for training (including SCUBA through local dive shop collaboration), lap swimming, and play. For those with base access, it offers free swimming. While some positive experiences mention sufficient lifeguards and extended hours (up to 6 PM), these appear to be less consistent than the widespread complaints about availability.
Reviews
It's a decent pool for training, but not much else due to staffing. They are required to have 2 lifeguards for under 18 and / or under water swimming. Airmen and Guardians under 17 are just out of luck. The hours are also in constant flux, so good luck. 3 star instead of 2 because they work well with the local dive shop, and it's a fantastic place for learning SCUBA, which is why my son and I had went.
The hours of this pool are either "not open" or "barely open." Not open = The website says they are open, but in reality, there's a sign saying they won't open until a month later. A month later comes by, and a sign says they'll open next week. Next week comes by, and there's another sign saying they're still not open. Barely open = The pool is finally open, but the hours are terrible. At the time of writing this review, the pool is open from 6 AM to 12 PM from Tuesday-Friday (when everyone is at work) or Saturday from 8 AM to 2 PM. Sundays and Mondays are closed. The weather gets very hot during the summer, which makes me want to swim. My suggestion is to keep the pool open to least 5 PM, and I would be alright if it didn't open until 12 PM. My other suggestion is to keep the website updated, so people don't have to show up to the pool in person to find out it's closed. I've called the phone number a few times when they were closed, but they were unsure when the pool would open back up. The pool does seem nice though, so please make the hours more accessible!
Tried multiple times to use. Either they are closed because there aren't any lifeguards working, or they are at capacity since there is only one lifeguard. It sure is a hassle to try to get in. Also, please change your phone number to reflect the correct one. Tried calling to ensure that you were open before I showed up, and it was the wrong number. Person who answered said this happens a lot and he doesn't know why it's not changed yet.
Pretty good regular sized pool, opens until 6pm, great for both lap swim and play
Free swimming for those with base access. Seems to be about a 50/50 mix of general base populace and tech schoolers. Plenty of eager lifeguards armed with whistles and horns.
