About

Harker Swimming Pool, located at 1 Harker Ln, Sun Valley, ID, is a renowned and iconic outdoor pool within the Sun Valley Resort. It is celebrated for its large size, year-round accessibility, and picturesque setting, offering guests a unique swimming experience amidst the scenic Idaho landscape, often complemented by food and beverage services.

The pool at Harker Swimming Pool is consistently heated, typically maintained at a comfortable temperature, often cited to be around 82 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 28 to 29 degrees Celsius).

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for various pools and facilities are mixed. Positive feedback highlights pools with good depth (up to 10ft), diving boards, comfortable temperatures (around 82 degrees), non-chlorine water, and amenities like hot tubs, saunas, and tennis courts, especially appreciated by homeowners and families. However, significant negative feedback includes unexpected closures of amenities (pool, sauna, hot tub) in April, despite charges for passes. A major point of criticism, particularly for the Harker Pool, is a strict 'no flotation device' rule. Reviewers argue this rule is unsafe for young children and non-proficient swimmers, deeming it an endangerment and a way to discourage families, rather than a genuine safety measure, prioritizing the comfort of older patrons over child safety and enjoyment.

Our Casa rental insisted that we register for 2 amenity passes. Come to find out, the pool, sauna and hot tub are all closed in April. What a disappointment.

Worst pool ever! We are here for a family reunion and have 9 kids that wanted to go swimming. Upon arriving we saw a sign posted that said the pool doesn’t allow flotation devices. WHAT?!? After asking the kid at the front desk and the lifeguard, they both admitted that they thought it was a dumb rule, but management is very strict about it. After asking more it turns out they have the rule in place to appease older people who don’t like it when parents allow their kids to have fun and swim in the pool. It’s a very sad commentary on humanity that the people managing this pool are more concerned about curmudgeons being happy than the life and safety of a child. I have tried to drill into my children who are not proficient swimmers that they are never allowed in a pool without a floaty. I just can’t support a facility that encourages disregarding water safety. Quite frankly, I’m in awe that they are actually allowed to operate with such a rule. The Harker Pool has lost our business and I will make sure to let everyone I know coming to Sun Valley to avoid it. I just pray that they don’t have a drowning on their hands because of this terrible decision made by the management of this pool.

The 5 star reviews here must be from elderly permanent residents who prefer an empty and silent pool. The no flotation device rule is a cheap ploy at “safety”- apparently it is supposed to encourage parents to supervise their children. Any parent of toddlers or preschoolers, or children who are not strong swimmers knows that this is actually an endangerment, and that supervision and flotation devices are both necessary for safe swimming. In reality, this rule is a thinly veiled way to say that young children are unwelcome and unvalued at the facility. Truly a shame that families are not able to comfortably or safely use this pool.

Great pool, goes to 10ft deep with a diving board. The pool is about 82 degrees. And it's not a chlorine pool. The hot tub is great. They also have a sauna. Overall great experience. I've been there a couple of times in the past week.

Great pool and park for the Elkhorn homeowners. My kids love this pool. Has a really good diving board and a 10 foot deep end ! Nice events during the summer!! Tennis courts as well.
