About

Ralph Sampson Park Spraygrounds, located at 620 Simms Ave, Harrisonburg, VA 22802, USA, is a popular and free public splash pad. It features a variety of interactive water play elements, including spray jets, a dumping bucket, and other fun features designed for children to cool off and play during warm weather. It's a key attraction within the larger Ralph Sampson Park, which also offers other amenities.

As a sprayground, this facility does not feature traditional pools with regulated temperatures. The water used in the spray features is typically ambient temperature city water, which varies based on external environmental conditions and is not heated or cooled.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? This splash pad generally receives high praise for being a fun, clean, and well-maintained facility, offering a decent size and two nearby playgrounds. Many reviewers reported their children had a great time, and it's free to use. Amenities include generally well-kept bathrooms and pavilions with tables, though securing a table can be challenging, and some noted a lack of shade for adults. A significant point of frustration for some visitors was the water not being operational during posted hours due to maintenance, leading to long waits. The facility also has a policy of turning off water and requiring visitors to leave during inclement weather. Despite these minor drawbacks and occasional operational hiccups, most users expressed a strong intention to return and recommend the splash pad.

These photos don’t depict the actual splash pad too well but the kids had SO much fun here and we will absolutely be returning. There were 2 play grounds close by (one pictured) which was a huge plus. It felt clean and well maintained.

Nice and decent size splash pad. I went on a Friday around 3 and it was not crowded. It is free to use.

Very nice in comparison to other "splashpads" we have visited. There are 4 pavilions with tables but you can't really "claim" a table bc people come and sit even if you leave bags/food/towels. Bathrooms are generally well kept and there is lots of room to sit walk and play. They will turn off water and ask everyone to leave in inclement weather so if there is a thunder storm or lightning be prepared to leave. We will be back and would recommend.

This was a really fun spot and very well maintained. Only complaint was there wasn’t much shade for grown ups but no biggie. All the kids seemed to be having fun there.

The park looks really nice and bathrooms are nice except they're out of soap. But we've been here over 30 minutes and the water isn't on, it's 11 am. We drove 35 min to get here based on the hours posted. There are people here saying they're filling up the tank and that it would be 20 min but it's been a lot longer than that and it's still not on. So frustrating.
