Public pool, good for lap swimming and fitness, with a swim area for children.
The main 50-meter lap pool at "Sparky" Kawamoto Swim Stadium is typically heated and maintained at approximately 80-82°F (27-28°C). The smaller training/therapy pool is kept warmer, generally around 88-90°F (31-32°C), suitable for therapeutic and instructional purposes.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This public pool is highly praised for being free, well-maintained despite its age, and offering great hours with friendly staff and lifeguards. It accommodates various users with designated lap lanes, a deep area, and a children's swim area, making it suitable for families and lap swimmers. While some acknowledge the facility is old, the water quality can occasionally be a concern (e.g., paint chips, metallic taste), and it can get crowded on weekday afternoons, these minor drawbacks are generally outweighed by the excellent value, motivating atmosphere, and overall positive experience provided by this complimentary community resource.

Grew up swimming here as a kid and was pleasantly surprised to see it's still well-maintained. Can't believe it's a public pool as it's better than some of the paid facilities at gyms that I've used. Great hours, and the staffs are friendly. Not too crowded and although I remembered it always being freezing cold, the temps were actually not too bad. Has a swim area for children and a deeper area, though warning that it is pretty deep. There's a designated lap area with lanes as well. Really love this pool and happy I got a chance to come back and swim here again!
Walk up, get your laps in, no charge. Lifeguards are very nice. Pool is a bit dated but very well maintained. Motivating atmosphere.
Pros: -free -decent hours for lap swim -can usually find a lane available -good temperature for training/lap swimming, but I understand why people says it's cold. It is cold if you're not working out hard. -friendly people -lockers Cons: -old facility -pool water not the cleanest. I've seen what looks like paint chips floating in the water. I think this is related to how old the pool is (if you take a look at the paint and seams on the bottom of the pools, you'll see what I mean). And I always get a metallic taste in my mouth whenever I swim there. -no backstroke flags -gets crowded on weekday afternoons from about 3:30 to close. Overall, it's not the nicest or cleanest facility I've been to, but it's good for lap swimming, and for the price I can't really complain!
The best place to go and teach your kids to swim or jus have a swim day
Great pool, great hours, great staff!
