Outdoor infinity pool that’s not regularly maintained, but can be clean if high waves clear it out.
As a natural, ocean-fed pool, the water temperature of the Ali'i Saltwater Swimming Pool is not artificially regulated. Its temperature fluctuates with the ambient Pacific Ocean temperature off the Kona coast, typically ranging from the mid-70s to low 80s Fahrenheit (approximately 24-28°C) throughout the year, reflecting the warm tropical waters of Hawaii.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews consistently describe the pool as unmaintained, unclean, and filled with algae and loose rock, making it unsuitable for swimming. Despite its neglected condition, it is highly recommended as a unique and interesting visual attraction, offering excellent photo opportunities, particularly of the oceanfront. Many find it to possess a 'macabre charm' and even suggest it as a location for horror films or music videos. Visitors appreciate that ocean waves fill the pool naturally and note that free parking is readily available, making it a worthwhile stop for those curious to view its distinctive, abandoned beauty.

The pool was quite unclean, but it provided an excellent location to capture photographs of the oceanfront. The small, black crabs were Romain. For parking, please park next to the access to the pool.
It's interesting and I found it unfortunate that no one kept up the condition of the pool. Unless you're the curious type I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here, especially since you won't want to swim in it!
It’s not necessarily usable but an interesting attraction to view. Free parking out front. I had always wanted to check it out and little did I know it was right under my nose the whole time. Great photo opportunity.
Prior to it's abandonment, this pool must have been pretty swank-tastic! What a shame. Oh well, it has developed a certain macabre charm in it's current state of greenish neglect. And... there is an entire school of fish swimming around in there! While I don't recommend it for swimming, it would probably be the perfect place to film a scene for a horror film or a death metal music video. Why not check it out? Parking is free!
It is a beautiful place and I did enjoy having this experience. It would be nice if it were maintained a little. There is a lot of algae in the pool and loose rock in some places. Overall it was a nice experience, it’s is very cool that the ocean waves fill this pool.
