About

Haymaker Pool, located at 106 Penn Lear Dr, Monroeville, PA, is a public outdoor community aquatic facility managed by Monroeville Parks & Recreation. It offers recreational swimming for all ages, featuring a main pool, a separate kiddie pool, a diving board, and a slide. The facility also includes a concession stand, picnic tables, and hosts various activities such as open swim sessions and swimming lessons during its operational season.

As a typical outdoor community pool, specific heated temperatures for Haymaker Pool are generally not provided. Its water temperature primarily relies on ambient weather conditions and sun exposure, as it is not typically heated to a set temperature. The shallow kiddie pool may naturally warm faster than the larger main pool.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool is largely praised for its clean, friendly, and peaceful environment, providing a great family-friendly experience that children and grandchildren particularly enjoy. Reviewers appreciate the staff and the overall atmosphere for summer fun. However, a significant point of contention is the membership process, described as absurdly expensive, complicated, and convoluted with numerous caveats, making it seem overly complex. It's noted as a 'Members Only Club' that aims for 'no riffraff' and requires a member sponsor for residents from specific local communities.

Membership is absurdly expensive and has all kinds of strange and convoluted caveats such as having to do volunteer work, who lives in your household, who is over 18, who is a dependent, etc. Buying a car at a dealership isn't nearly this complicated. I've noticed this not only at this pool but at several other similar ones in the area. It's a private business so they have every right to run it however they want but it really should be made much simpler.
