Water park and pool offering free swim, swim lessons, a diving area and a kids' section.
Specific pool temperatures for the Donner Aquatic Center are not consistently published. However, public aquatic centers typically maintain their pools, especially leisure and competition pools, at comfortable temperatures, generally ranging from the high 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit (approximately 25-28°C), suitable for swimming and recreational activities.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for the public pool are largely mixed, with significant negative feedback outweighing some positive aspects. Positively, visitors appreciate the pool's good size, excellent kids' area, and the availability of free swim from 5-6 pm. Some experiences, particularly during PreK swim, noted clean water, locker rooms, and bathrooms, and found the pool "awesome" and affordable, though there's conflicting feedback on pricing. However, numerous critical issues were raised: severe concerns about cleanliness and maintenance, including mold, ripped pool lining, debris in the water, and consistently dirty pool bottoms. Lifeguard professionalism was heavily criticized due to inappropriate behavior and ignoring safety incidents, though one review noted 'nice lifeguards.' A major accessibility flaw is the complete lack of handicap access. Furthermore, the concession stand is consistently reported as never being open, and the pool is often described as too small and crowded for the town's size. These issues have led many patrons to state they will not return.

What happened to our beautiful public pool? Where’s the life in the “lifeguards”? Today, I watched one lifeguard mock blowing her brains out to another staff member — across the pool, in front of a bunch of children and parents. On top of that, my daughter slipped twice on mold growing in standing water near the concession stand. The lifeguards saw, looked at me, and then just stared straight ahead, luckily I waved down medical as they were walking from the concessions. This used to be a great place for families. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll be back as there's many more places close by we'll travel to. Not to mention price is higher than most all other places just to walk around on ripped pool lining and leaves / bugs floating in / around the pool.
The pool is good size and has a great kids area, however the bottom of the pool gets very dirty as the summer goes on and does not appear to be cleaned. The life guards need a dress code. They should open the concession stand, I’ve never seen it open. It’s really awesome that they offer free swim from 5-6pm. I think all city pools should do that.
We went to the PreK swim, Saturday 10-11. My son had an absolute blast! The water was a tad chilly but not too bad. Some sand in the deeper end of the pool but otherwise, very clean! Locker room and bathroom were very clean 👍 Will be back!
There is no handicap access, there is no way for a disabled person or elderly canvget in or out of the pool. They need to build another pool so it's not so crowded too small for a large town. Nice life guards. Bathrooms could use a make over. Should offer annual passes. Never seen the consession stand open ..
Pool is awesome and cheap for the day $6 per person
