What are people saying (AI review summary)? Ellenberger Public Pool elicits mixed reviews. Positive aspects frequently mentioned include a generally clean pool (though one reviewer noted dirt and algae in the deep end), a friendly and helpful staff, a reasonable entry fee, and amenities like a diving board and rock wall. Many find it a good size that accommodates a lot of people. However, recurring criticisms point to unsatisfactory locker room facilities. More recently, some visitors have experienced frustration with what they describe as overly strict and numerous rules enforced by lifeguards, leading to a 'sterile' environment with restrictions such as only one person in the deep end, no jumping, and specific entry/exit methods.

Ellenberger Public Pool is a nice place for a swim. The pool is clean, with some nice chairs along the poolside, a friendly staff and a quite reasonable entry fee. My only knock on the pool is the locker room area which leaves something to be desired. Pro Tip If possible, change into swimwear before arriving at the pool and keep your exposure to the not so pleasant locker room area to a minimum.
My kids and I have enjoyed the heck out of this pool in the past, but our visit yesterday was very upsetting. The poor 16-yr old life guards are being made into nazi-esque rule enforcers. We probably got reprimanded 5 times in 20 mins. Stupid rules include, “only one person in the deep end at a time (even AFTER taking a swim test). No jumping into the deep end, must use ladder to enter AND exit! No swimming from the shallow to deep end. You have to get out, walk around, and use the ladder! And no using the lap lane for underwater practice even when no one else is using. So if you want the most sterile and strict swimming environment possible, this place is great.
I like the area the pool is in and the staff are great, however they really need to clean the pool at the deep end bc all that dirt and algae are really disgusting.
it was very clean. the staff was super helpfull and understanding! and the water felt great
This is definitely one of the nicer public pools that I've been too. It's a nice size pool that accommodates a lot of people. They even have a diving board and a rock wall to climb. Admission was only$4.
