Specific pool temperatures for the Kathy Dowling Aquatic Center are not readily available on their official website or public information channels. What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews offer a mixed perspective on the aquatic facility. Positively, the free splash pad is highly praised as clean, fun for all ages, and well-equipped with seating and good concessions. Children enjoy new additions like slides, a climbing wall, and diving boards, and some visitors found individual admission reasonable and appreciated the ability to bring coolers. Conversely, major complaints revolve around the high price of the family season pass ($150+ for a short 2-month season), which many consider unaffordable for the community. There's significant frustration with poor communication regarding pool hours, unexpected closures, and the lack of a direct contact number. Reviewers also desire extended operating hours (especially post-school for less crowded times), a return to more free swim days, and overall better affordability and accessibility for the community.

Bought the season pass. Love taking the kids up there. They also have a free splash pad which is nice. Not many things to choose from at the concession stand but that doesn’t make or break it for me.
There is no number for the pool directly it’s self it just ends call or takes me to the parks department for either number. It said they close the 10th tried to go at 1pm on Wednesday it was not open even tho online it says open. Some of us moms who have younger kids would like to be able to go to the pool for a few days after school is back so we don’t have to share the pool with that many people or teenagers. I don’t mind sharing most the summer but I look forward to just 2 or 3 days to have the pool to us adults and younger kids and it not be absolutely packed. Wish they would fix times it’s actually open through the week and have a number to call not just a recorded line. It’s aggravating.
It’s nice that they have tried making more activities for the kids to do like adding a new slide and a climbing wall however the summer family pass prices is getting way out of hand over priced. You are in a community where most kids are on free/reduced cost lunch and you are charging $150+ family pass when you are open at most 2 months! Ridiculous! Also this is a community pool not exclusive for kids in school hours meaning you should be open when it’s still hot out. What a waist on so many days people can’t access the pool when they should be able to. They used to have free swim 2 days a week now it’s down to only once a week. You need to go back to making this more affordable for kids by lowering the family pass prices and also adding back the free day.
My 2 kids (7 and 9) and I from Lawrence, IN came on a cloudy Wednesday afternoon just after opening. We paid a reasonable amount for admission and there were plenty of places to set our stuff (pool chairs and grassy areas). The kids had a blast on the 2 diving boards, 2 slides, and rock wall. A storm blew in and we were told the lighning alarm went off and had to wait 30 minutes until it had passed. We were allowed to get back in the pool despite the light rain and the rest of the afternoon turned out to be beautiful. We didn't check out the concession stand (outside the pool area) but there were plenty of places to sit and you are allowed to bring your own cooler but only certain areas for eating. The place wasn't very crowded which was much appreciated and we will definitely be making a return visit!
Splash pad rocks!! Clean and best of all free, great place for littles and and a bit older kids. Always clean and kids have a blast no matter the age. Great place to cool 0ff and relax for a few, plenty of picnic tables and lounge chairs. Great concessions too!! Prices not bad! There is also a great large motor climbing/playscape for the kiddos to dry off before jumping in the car or bathrooms to change in.
