Kid-friendly outdoor pool with free swim lessons and lap swimming options.
Specific, regularly published pool temperatures are not readily available for the Upcountry Pool. As is common for many public outdoor pools in Hawaii, it is generally unheated or maintained at a refreshing ambient temperature, often considered cool for lap swimming and exercise rather than a warm leisure pool.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for the pool are mixed but lean positive. Many reviewers praise its beautiful upcountry location, spectacular views, cleanliness, and well-maintained facilities, often describing it as a "true upcountry gem" and "one of the best public pools on Maui." Lifeguards are generally seen as diligent and friendly, and the presence of a separate pool for kids and families is appreciated. However, one significant negative review criticizes the facilities as dated and often closed, highlights a lack of swim classes, and strongly disapproves of what are described as numerous, nonsensical rules, suggesting other pools like Kihei are superior. Despite the rule complaints and facility concerns from one user, the overall sentiment points to a valued and enjoyable public amenity.

Beautiful upcountry pool with spectacular views, very clean, well maintained and the life guards are diligent but very friendly. A true upcountry gem!
Very nice atmosphere, great view and pretty nice facility!
Busy with summer pals kids and it's staff but sections of the pool are still allowed for the public. 1 of the Best public pools on maui. They awesome.
Lovely clean and user friendly, this pool is great for any age. I swim laps there and happy there is a separate pool for kids and families. Locker rooms are decent, and I use when swimming on lunch break, but since pandemic I wouldn't share the small space with others.
Worst pool on island. Facilities are dated but adequate when they are not closed which has been a lot in the 8 years I have been upcountry. They do not have enough swim classes for the public but every time I try to help my son to swim there are 6 new rules that don’t make sense. Obviously safety is paramount but I have been lifeguard for 19 years and they are just ridiculous. ie Can’t use the kick board in the empty swim zone, you have to go ask some one to crowd up a lane. Can’t use a kick board for practice breast stroke, it is a kick board only. Make the drive to Kihei, way better staff and facilities.
