About

Affordable public pool offering slides, a diving board and a lazy river.

The pools at the Hermiston Family Aquatic Center, particularly the main leisure pool, are generally heated to a comfortable temperature, often maintained between 82 and 84 degrees Fahrenheit, to ensure an enjoyable experience for all visitors.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for the aquatic center are mixed. Positive feedback highlights it as a great family spot with fun waterslides and a diving board, comfortable lounge chairs, affordable snacks (churros), and amenities like sunscreen and the option to bring your own food. However, negative feedback points to several issues: some find the facility too small for the community and overly restrictive with rules (e.g., 'arm's reach' policy even with life vests, limited personal items allowed in the pool), which is perceived as hindering family fun. There were also complaints about poor food service from unenthusiastic staff and, significantly, a report of extremely rude and unprofessional conduct from a manager when a family mistakenly arrived during non-public hours.

What a great family spot!! First time we've gone and it was great. Big enough that the kids had a blast. But not so big that I couldnt see both of them from one spot. Will definitely be back.

This aquatic center is much too small for our community!! I think the rule of being within arms reach of your child if it is in a life vest. You are also never allowed to bring anything into the pool with the exception of goggles and maybe a dive toy. I feel they restrict your ability to have fun and play with your child in the water to an extreme in this particular aquatic center. The next town over is much more lenient therefore a lot more fun for the whole family.

Fun water slide & diving board with $1.00 churros and comfortable lounge chairs. You can buy a lock 4 the lockers. If you need sunscreen, this place has you covered. You can also bring your own food. I had a great time!! thank you, city of Hermiston!

We were there on Saturday, August 2nd, and the food service is very bad. It seems that the young people there don't like their jobs, they throw things at you. They should pay more attention to the service.

Subject: Disrespectful Treatment During Visit Dear Hermiston Family Aquatic Center, I’m writing to share a disappointing experience we had during a recent visit to your pool facility. We arrived under the mistaken impression that it was open to the public. We hadn’t checked online beforehand, and that was our oversight. When we arrived, we waited a few minutes before being approached by a staff member, who informed us (rather bluntly) that the pool wasn’t open to the public. We apologized and acknowledged our mistake, saying, “Oh no, that sucks, we’re sorry we didn’t check.” At that point, what surprised us was the way the manager responded — saying, “Well, it’s too bad you are angry,” and, when we clarified that we weren’t angry, just bummed, she raised her voice and said, “Yes, it is your fault for not reading, and it’s not my fault you’re angry.” When I asked to speak to a manager, she stated, “Well, it’s too bad because I am the manager,” in an unprofessional tone. We weren’t confrontational or demanding; we were simply disappointed. We were shocked by the defensive and unwelcoming attitude, especially in front of our child. We understand policies are in place, but we were taken aback by the lack of basic courtesy and professionalism. We hope this kind of treatment is not reflective of your facility’s values. The name given to us was Jacoby. Thank you for taking the time to hear our concerns. Sincerely, Sandra A.
