About

Pool and beach club featuring an oceanfront setting, as well as a snack bar.

Specific, real-time pool temperatures for Village Beach Club Nags Head are not consistently published. However, the complex typically features an indoor pool that is heated, and several outdoor pools that are generally open seasonally. Guests should inquire directly with the property for current pool operating schedules and temperature details, especially during off-peak seasons.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Nags Head Village Beach Club receives mixed reviews, often appreciated for the included benefit of beach and pool access, which many find to be a great addition to their stay. Guests praise the private, clean, quiet, and beautiful beach with 24-hour access and convenient showers. The pool is generally described as clean, uncrowded, and perfectly temperate. Some staff members, particularly at the bar, are commended for excellent service, and specific food items like Ahi Tuna tacos are highlighted positively, along with free ice water. However, significant criticisms include the facility's overall dilapidated and unmaintained condition, with reports of broken chairs and torn umbrellas. The beach access has notably changed, with hurricane damage making it difficult for some, especially older individuals, to navigate a large mound of soft sand in place of damaged steps—a change not communicated prior to visits. Food service is inconsistent, with some experiencing unreceived orders or off-putting interactions, and menu options are limited. Other issues include a non-functional website, privacy concerns in changing rooms, and an instance of the pool closing due to contamination. Despite these drawbacks, many still value the access, but improvements in maintenance, communication, and amenities are desired.

We visited as part of the new benefit with the Tranquil House Inn. Don’t get me wrong, I’m so happy this benefit exists and I hope it stays! It’s so nice to be able to have pool and beach access. That being said this place is a little dilapidated and underwhelming. Also our food ordering experience was a bit off putting but maybe that was staff member specific. Finally, since their website doesn’t work I wasn’t sure what their food options were ahead of time, so I am posting that here for future folks.

The beach is amazing! We have access through our hotel and decided to make use of it. It did not dissapoint! Clean, quiet, and beautiful sunrises! Love the 24 hr access to the beach. Have not used any of the other amenities.

When our children were growing up we came Nags Head every summer for about 15 years. We always stayed at the Links Golf Course on the sound. We loved the golf and the views. Every day we would go to the beach, using the Nags Heads Village Beach Club access and come up to the pool in the afternoon. The beach access was great with steps up to the dunes and down from the dunes. We were able to manage all that one brings to the beach easily with the steps. We returned this year with our grandchildren after an almost 20 year hiatus. However, the Beach Club access has changed, probably due to hurricane damage. There are steps up to the dunes, but the steps down have been damaged and covered up with a huge mountain of soft sand. Navigating down and up this mountain of soft sand in 90 degree heat was miserable. If we were still in our 40s to 60s it may have been manageable. However, if you are in your 70s and have any health issues, it was miserable. Had the steps up from the beach still been in place it would have been no problem. The change to the beach access was not communicated prior to our booking. We ended up using the pool only after the first day. Additionally, on our last day a child/person defecated in the pool before noon, the pool closed, and we lost our last day of swimming. Our grandchildren were very disappointed we had to leave. The condition of the beach club has not been maintained. There are many chairs with broken slats and holes in the umbrellas at the tables. There are fewer tables and umbrellas around the pool area. Our second day at the pool we ordered drinks and lunch for 6 and never received the lunch. After an hour we had to go in and inquire about the food and go inside to sit to eat. We are curious to know if the beach access will be repaired in the near future, as this was a huge disappointment.

Fun addition for the family when the Beach gets too hot, you are looking for an alternative to the beach or you simply want to swim. Great Staff/Lifeguards. I do wish, however, they didn't remove the loaded nachos from the menu, haa and they had a few other choices of non alcoholic drinks (they have Pepsi products - I'm a Coca-Cola girl myself) possibly add energy drinks, sweet teas, other lemonades.

Having passes to the Beach Club included with our house rental was great! The pool was clean, not over crowded, and the water was the perfect temperature! The private beach was beautiful, and it was nice they had showers on the walk way back. Food and drinks were a little pricey, but I expected that. They were short staffed but the guy working the bar did a great job making sure you were taken care of in a timely manner! I had the Ahi Tuna fish tacos and they were fantastic!! They have free ice water set up in multiple places around the pool. My only complaint was the changing rooms, only 1 had a curtain and there were open windows leading to the parking lot for everyone to get a "free show". They also didn't have hooks inside the one that did have a curtain. That would definitely not deter me from coming back in the future though!
