About

Devil's Bathtub Swimming Hole and Waterfall, located at the end of the challenging Devil's Fork Loop Trail in Duffield, VA, is a pristine natural wonder. It features distinctive rock formations, natural water slides, and a deep, clear swimming hole fed by a picturesque waterfall, offering a rewarding and scenic destination for hikers.

The water in Devil's Bathtub is consistently described as very cold or frigid, even during the peak summer months, providing a bracing and refreshing, albeit chilly, experience for those who venture in.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? This destination offers a beautiful and fun hiking experience with well-marked trails, a natural pool, and a hot pool, suitable for various visitors. However, it can get extremely busy and crowded, particularly on Sunday afternoons, with unfortunate reports of increasing trash. Accessing the main parking often requires a 4WD or high-clearance vehicle, and the trail involves multiple water crossings. Visitors are advised to avoid coming after heavy rainfall, as water levels can rise significantly, impacting stream crossings and the natural pool's appearance. While the water can be extremely cold, even in early August, most visitors find they adapt to it.

Beautiful hike and area. People were there, did it on a Sunday afternoon. Well marked but need to cross water a few times

4wd to get to the main parking! This place gets really busy and draws a crowd so you will likely find lots of cars and trash here (unfortunately getting worse as time goes on). Dont try getting to the main parking unless you have higher clearance though or you will be backing up quite a distance. Note that you shouldn't come after rainfall to see the tub at it's best or if you want a more peaceful stream crossing as the water gets crazy. Attaching what it looks like after rain.
