What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Kirksville Aquatic Center generally receives praise for being a great family destination with activities for all ages, including large and small slides, a lazy river, a splash pad, a diving board, and rock climbing over the pool. Reviewers appreciate the kind and helpful staff, good concessions, and the availability of both indoor and outdoor pools, which are also suitable for parties. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the handling of weather-related closures; one detailed account described pools being cleared for over an hour due to a perceived storm without actual rain, thunder, or lightning, resulting in a very short swim time for the price paid, with no refund or alternative compensation (like a pass for future use). Other criticisms include shortened operating hours, a substantial increase in summer pass prices, and the perception that the facility is smaller than expected and lacks sufficient attractions for older kids and adults. Better communication about re-opening plans during closures was also suggested.

*2023 visit edit at bottom& 2022 visit This place was really cool! There are lots to do for all ages. Large slides, a small slide, a lazy river area, a splash pad, as well as a diving board and rock climbing over the pool. The kids really liked it and we'll be back next year!! Pricing can be found online on their website. *edit for 2023 visit We arrived just after 1pm. We were having a great time and then noticed a storm rolling in. At around 1:37, they cleared the pools and turned off music and water features to help with sound to listen for thunder. We understood this but were hoping that the storm would pass and we'd get back in. We waited. And waited.. no significant rain came. Didn't hear any thunder or see lightning. I was watching. The wind picked up and moved that storm away. I was watching the radar and waiting for the all-clear. We waited until nearly 2:40. Over an hour, and they still didn't allow anyone back in. The kids were complaining, so we packed up. I understand the no refund policy, but offering something like a pass to use later that day or week when things like that happen would be nice. I paid $19.50 for my 7 year old, 14 year old and me to swim for less than 30 minutes. Not everyone has money like that to spare, and it's not really fair to keep people out of the pool without thunder, lightning, or even a storm hitting the area. I work at a pool, so I understand clearing it. But letting guests know how long it the plan would be helpful too. If we knew they'd be ready to let swimmers back in by 3, we'd probably stayed.
Kirksville Aquatic Center is a great place to spend a hot summer day! My son enjoys the indoor pool as much as the outdoor water park. The staff is always kind and helpful and the concessions always has something yummy to offer!!
It’s a good pool. Great place for the kids and family. There is a place if you are going to have a party a nice indoor pool as well. Don’t like they shorten the hours. And increased the summer pass by $100.
Went to help some Scouta learn to swim better during an open swim time. Helpful with allowing us to use some lanes. Great atmosphere!!
They didn't make this fabulous pool they were suppose to years ago. It's just smaller. Not really much for older kids or adults.
