Fitness center, gym, pool, recreational center, and swim school offering exercise, zumba, and water aerobics, plus a sports camp and a preschool.
The YMCA of Klamath Falls has two main pools: a lap pool typically maintained at a temperature between 79-81°F, and a warm water/therapy pool, which is usually kept warmer at approximately 90-92°F.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the YMCA facility are mixed, but often highlight its importance to families. Many patrons praise the wide selection of weightlifting equipment, plenty of new machines, and generally helpful and friendly staff, with specific shout-outs to dedicated childcare providers like Miss Leann. Childcare services are consistently lauded as safe, fun, and trustworthy, with a good environment for kids. The facility is often described as clean and offering generous scholarships. However, significant negative feedback includes concerns about overall cleanliness in certain areas, particularly equipment not being wiped down and locker rooms described as 'gross' and uncleaned, sometimes frequented by homeless individuals. Some staff are criticized for being disengaged or ageist, specifically a swim instructor. Other complaints detail the pool smelling of pee, lap lanes being monopolized by talking members, perceived ageism against younger patrons, high costs, and a general lack of etiquette among members regarding equipment and pool lanes. Communication issues for children's sports events and the effectiveness of swimming lessons (due to limited water time and cold temperatures) are also noted as areas needing improvement, along with crowded women's locker rooms.

Very good selection of weightlifting equipment. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Great place for children of all ages! Very safe and fun, lots of activities and the staff are all wonderful!
Gross! Nobody wipes down the equipment. It’s a bunch of 18-21 year olds working that are on their phones 99%. Do not go swimming cause the swim instructor is the rudest, ageist person I have met and the pool always smells like pee. Lap swim isn’t lap swim it’s let old people take up the lanes and talk the whole time. The locker rooms are so gross and they let the old people do whatever they want as in take up whole benches and areas just to change. Nothing is ever cleaned! They treat anybody under the age of 50 like crap, and it’s super expensive compared to other places. Homeless people are allowed to just hang out side and in the locker rooms. Every single person is rude and will push and shove to get equipment or lanes in the pool. Never been so disgusted with a place.
Miss Leann from child watch (morning shift) is the best child-care provider I have ever had. I trust her completely with my children. My kids love going to see her and play in the really nice room they have there. Also shout-out to Sarah, Sasha, Josh, and Kelly for being wonderful employees that are friendly, funny, and awesome. The YMCA is an important part of our family's daily routine!
All in all, I think the Klamath Falls Y is doing great. They've given my family a generous scholarship, for which we are very thankful. We drop our kids off in childcare. They're all comfortable there, even my nervous kid. I ask the caregiver to turn off the TV. She now just turns it off when she sees me coming. That's so nice. She's lovely. There are plenty of nice, new machines; plenty of space. Always clean. I have found the staff to be generally very nice and helpful. No complaints! The women's locker room to the pool could use a revamp. It's crowded! Lockers just around the walls would be an improvement. I've had some issues with the kids sports events, though. Really bad communication... I don't know if this is something the Y can improve, or if it's just down to fallible humanity. During Biddy-Ball, my kid's coach quit three weeks before the end of the season. He just said, "I'm not coming to practice anymore, I'll be at the games." I thought the Y would write the parents and at least say, "sorry this happened..." But nothing. Swimming lessons, I liked the teacher, but it's miserable for the kids to sit on the edge of the pool and take turns - they really get very little time in the water and they're freezing. I guess it's not possible to do it any other way, since there's no end shallow enough for the short beginners to stand. But it's not ideal. So all in all, I love the Y and I'm sure thankful to have one in Klamath Falls!!
