What are people saying (AI review summary)? Vidor Pool is historically significant as one of the first desegregated community pools in the South, with locals emphasizing a strong anti-segregation stance. Patrons generally praise the super nice and professional staff, and enjoy activities like water aerobics. It's considered a safe and fun place for kids, despite being described as a small pool, and also offers aquatic therapy. However, some residents report recurring issues with entry, being incorrectly charged non-resident rates. Another common complaint is the limited food selection at the concession stand (mostly snacks), combined with a strict no outside food policy, which can leave children hungry.

Vidor was one of the first Desegrigated Community pools in the south. The locals proudly say "Segregation never. It is not welcomed in this town, it is not welcomed in this country."

I'm iffy on going back. It's a nice pool, but we always have a problem when enetering. They always tell me "they dont have my address" on the list as a resident...when i literally live 1 minute down the road. My daughter loves going there but its ridiculous they're going to charge us so much making us pay as a non-resident when we are in fact residents.

Always A fun time! My only dislike is that the only thing they have for food really are snacks or nachos or frito pie and you can't bring food in. Most kids won't even eat either. Then you have hungry kids

small pool, but great place for kids to have fun in the summer. my son attends aquatic therapy there during the summer. Young staff, but it's a very safe place. Also offers a concession stand with a wide variety of snack and drinks.
