Option for swimming and lap lanes, plus a pool slide, in a facility with attentive lifeguards.
The pools at Laabs Swimming Pool are heated, with the water typically maintained at a comfortable temperature range of 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit for swimmers.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool generally receives positive feedback as a fun, public facility with reasonable prices ($2 per person), offering features like a kiddie pool, lap lanes, and a water slide. However, there are significant recurring criticisms. Several reviewers complain about rude and overly strict lifeguards, citing instances of verbal berating over children's floaties or repeatedly stopping children for swimming in the deep end without a life vest, even if they know how to swim. Another major issue is the inaccuracy of the online listed hours of operation, which are reportedly 12:00-3:00 PM, not 9:00-11:30 AM. Additionally, one reviewer expressed a wish for patrons to adhere to a dress code for the sake of children and youth.

Love the pool itself, but some of the lifeguards are outright rude and out of line. As a mother and a CMA, I actively stay with my children and am on top of my little one. I do not appreciate being verbally berated bc my child's floaties are not to her standards. I did not even let my child go, who was swimming just fine without them earlier, but was just playing in the shallow water with them. You absolutely ruined the day for us.
Please note, their actual hours of operation are different from what is listed here online. They are not open from 9-11:30AM. They are open from 12:00-3:00PM. I wish Las Cruces would update this information.
The lifeguards suck. I just came to enjoy a nice pool and the lifeguards kept getting my child for swimming in the deep end without a life vest even though he knows how to swim. Pretty good pool just workers suck.
Fun, public pool for all to enjoy. Has a kiddie pool area, lap pool lanes, and a water slide. Locker rooms are available to change into swim gear, but not very big; compared to the aquatic center. Prices are reasonable as I paid $2 per person. Family swim times are in effect so call or look up online before you go so that you don't miss out on the fun.
It’s good I just wish some women would adhere to the dress code we have littles and youth kids it’s just not appropriate!
