I was a bit nervous to play here based on reviews but whatever issues there had been are no more. The course was in great shape especially the greens. I rarely saw ball mark damage, they ran very true and above average speed. The only bothering this was there are ZERO water coolers on the course nor did they have a beverage cart available. I played today with the heat index over 100° having enough to drink is critical. They had a Gatorade cooler filled with water in the clubhouse so if you play here, definitely bring plenty of drinks.. Still a 5 star review because it's based on the review is for the course not the amenities or lack thereof.

This course is the only Donald Ross designed course in all of Kansas. What used to be a top notch private club is no more, all you have to do is pull up to the tee box’s in order to tell how awful the course maintenance has been. Sod has been layed directly over old sod and has already died out since the sod wasn’t flush cut with the ground. The entire course was bone dry and besides the occasional area where the sprinklers were broken and leaked, this course hasn’t seen any water besides the free kind Mother Nature provides. The greens appear to be aerated recently and they to have not received any water and play incredibly hard and sandy, not a single putt rolled smooth during my entire round. There was no difference between the fairway or rough or any sign of Marshals to encourage proper pace of play. We had a five some in front of us that we were waiting on for every single hole until we had to ASK to play through after they each took four strokes to get off from the forward tees to the front of the fairway. I can’t believe I was dumb enough to get a membership through GreatLIFE, the only course out of 5 courses in the area that is somewhat decent is Western Hills. This course is very challenging but GreatLIFE has ruined another. The late great Donald Ross would be rolling in his grave right now.

This was one of the worst maintained courses I have ever played. Dead grass everywhere, fairways and tee boxes were too long, some greens were in absolute horrid shape. Wash boarding everywhere! Nice layout and the staff was nice, but they need to hire a new greens keeper and put some money into mowing equipment and proper staff. This course is a year or two away from being total trash. Sad…

Staff is friendly, the green has improved so much, gym has improved and is updated and clean. Employees go beyond expectations to enjoy your time there.
