What are people saying (AI review summary)? This facility is highly praised as an amazing and inclusive place suitable for various activities, from training and fitness to leisure and family fun. It boasts an Olympic-sized pool with many lanes, a therapy pool, and a leisure lagoon, though some wish the lagoon's hours were more accommodating for young children. Patrons appreciate the availability of diverse aquatic equipment and an upper observation deck with an exercise area. Locker rooms are well-equipped with showers and suit dryers. Staff are consistently described as friendly and informative, and lifeguards are vigilant. While it offers extensive amenities and classes, some note the absence of a hot tub or steam sauna. The facility also serves as a trailhead for local trails and sells permits for the Los Alamos Gate Camping area, with overnight parking available. Overall, it's considered an excellent aquatic-focused gym with reasonable fees, making it a destination for both locals and visitors to the area.

We have fun here, I just wish the leisure lagoon hours were a little more little-kid friendly- many little kids nap in the middle of the day so opening before 11 would be helpful, even 10 would be great.
Amazing place to train, work, retire, grow, play, laugh. learn to swim with regular life-long swimmers/guards most helpful happy to provide stroke tips when asked...
Great place, everything I need. I never feel out of place.
Stopped here on a visit to the nearby Bandalier National Monument. Really nice facility with reasonable usage fees. Olympic sized pool is great with many lanes and deep end. There's also a therapy pool and leisure lagoon. Tons of kickboards and flotation devices in different sizes. Upper observation deck has an exercise area with a pull-up bar and captain chairs for ab work, plus dumbells, bands, cubes, and many gym mats. Locker rooms offer showers, wash sinks, suit dryer, and several locker sizes. I brought my own towel and lock, and the fee was $3.50. It appears they have classes of various water related exercises and for swimming. Basically, it's like an aquatic focused gym with a huge pool. As big it is, it's a shame there's no hot tub or steam sauna. Friendly staff and vigilant lifeguards. No pass outs, so you pay another fee if you leave and come back on a "day pass." The facility is also the trailhead for central Los Alamos central trails from .9 to 7.5 miles in length, 11.4 mi total. Definitely planning to return here and make a day out of the trail hikes followed by aqua therapy, fitness, and leisure swim, then nice meal at one of the towns many local eateries.
Permits for the Los Alamos Gate Camping area can be purchased here. The staff is very friendly and informative. Cars can park overnight at the Los Alamos Gate for $10.
