We've had a truly fantastic experience at Southwest Aqua Sports! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their professionalism and genuine enthusiasm for what they do. As this was my child’s first time in formal swim lessons, I was a little anxious—but the instructors made the process incredibly smooth and reassuring. The instructors are wonderfully patient, motivating, and have a special talent for connecting with children. Not only has my child gained confidence in the water, but they’ve also discovered a real love for swimming. The facility is always spotless, secure, and well-maintained, which has given me complete peace of mind as a parent. We've also appreciated the clear communication—regular updates on progress and practical tips have really added to the positive experience. A big thank you to everyone at Southwest Aqua Sports for helping my child develop such a valuable life skill in such a caring and encouraging environment. We’re beyond grateful and will absolutely be recommending your program to other families!
I love that I am able to either start or end my day here! Swimming is the best, and hopefully, soon, I will get to snorkeling and scuba classes. Temperature for the smaller pool is kept at about 90° and the 25-yard pool is kept at 80°
My wife and I got our PADI open water scuba certification completed with the fine folks at SWAS in Jan ‘23. Since then, we have worked through many other specialties and certifications. Our daughter got certified and now one of our sons is getting his completed. It’s a family affair and such a fun way to spend time together as a family. We can’t say enough good things about the folks at SWAS! They have helped us discover a whole new world and opportunity for new adventures as a family.
Please think twice before sending your child to Southwest Swim. I’m still shaken by what happened during my son’s swim lesson there, and I would never want another parent or child to go through what we did. During his turtle swim lesson, my son was in the water with four other kids and an instructor, with a lifeguard sitting just feet away. Somehow he either slipped or jumped off the pool ledge—and he began to drown right in front of them. The lifeguard did nothing. He just sat there, watching. I screamed, ran toward the pool, and ultimately had to jump in fully clothed to rescue my own child. Not one person—not the instructor, not the lifeguard, not a staff member—checked on him afterward. They all just kept going like nothing had happened. When I brought this up to the front desk, expressing how dangerous and unacceptable the lifeguard’s inaction was, I was told he’d “probably just get written up.” I was stunned. It feels like they’re waiting for a tragedy before they take safety seriously. He definitely should not be working there anymore! Please don’t let your child be the one that finally gets their attention. We trusted them to keep our son safe, and they failed him. Your child deserves better.
I wanted to tell the swimming instructor and the life guards what an awesome job they did teaching my granddaughter how to swim. As I watched her learn and understand how to swim. 🎉♥️🎉
