City pool with a waterslide, diving boards, and a zip line, plus a zero-depth entry.
The primary pool at the Spring Lake Park Swim Facility is heated. However, specific temperature details in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit are not publicly available on the official city website or readily found through general searches.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The water park elicits mixed feedback, with several patrons citing concerns primarily related to cost and restrictive policies. Key complaints include high entry fees, particularly for larger families who may need extra passes, and a very strict food and beverage policy that prohibits outside items, forcing guests to purchase from expensive concessions. Some reviewers reported inconsistent and unhelpful front desk staff regarding entry fees for non-swimmers, compulsory bag searches, and a lack of comfortable or safe seating, with provided chairs being described as cheap and causing injuries. Operational issues mentioned include a limited opening season (starting June 1st), frequent closures due to weather or overcrowding, and insufficient shower and seating areas, which are often hot and slippery. However, the park also receives praise for its positive attributes. It is generally noted as clean, with well-trained lifeguards and a good variety of attractions, including a zero-depth entry pool, slides, diving platforms, and a zip line, offering enjoyable experiences on hot days. Visitors appreciate the hourly safety breaks, ample seating and shade, convenient and large free parking, and a concession stand. Some reviewers also found the staff to be kind.

1 star is pushing it!! Went here today with a person I serve. I work for a company that assists people with disabilities and mental health. I told the girl at the front desk that me and my coworker were her staff and NOT swimming, so she did not charge us. Another coworker came to relieve us for the day and the front staff (same people who helped us get in when we got there) claimed that I never said I was her staff and that there still is a fee to get in for the coworker coming to relieve us. Some guy working the front claimed I never said that, which is weird because HE’S NOT THE ONE WHO HELPED US!! The girl who helped us sat there quiet. I’m pretty sure that I couldn’t have got past paying for no reason at this place. Never been to a place that made you pay to not swim. Especially under the circumstances at hand. All this place cares about is money, money, money.
Honestly all the things they keep changing and they're not focusing on the customers. Comfortability. You already want to search our bags on the way in. Why can we not bring our own chairs in several of me and my own friends as well as other people I've witnessed at the pool have injured themselves from these cheap lawn chairs that they offer. It is embarrassing and like I said people have been injured at this point. So are we going to make everybody sit on the ground or can we just start bringing our own chair so that we feel safe?
This park used to be sweet. I would take my kids here with a pass every year. This will be my last year. But, as these are my complaints, not everyone will have the same experience. The pool is nice in general to go to, but for our family it didn't work out. Edit to response: North Mankato below responded to me, and I want to respond to them, especially about the food. The food and beverages being confiscated were not glass at least on my end, they were in expensive treats that I wanted to bring with my family so that I don't have to spend money on pool food. I also clean up after myself. As for the pricing. The pool is expensive, yes you can buy a discount, but for a large family of 7 people I have to buy an additional pass for one member of my family. I am not complaining about the guards, in fact I said in my original post that the life guards are well trained. But, the pool opens June 1st now not after memorial day and is often closed due to rain (which I understand) and too many people. So, the price on how many days I can come gets higher. Positives: Typically clean and life guards seemed to be well trained. They have a zero immersion pool and many fun things to do here, like slides. 1. Expensive for larger families. I have 5 kids. I have to buy an additional pass for my little one. Life with a large family is expensive in the first place, but this makes it even harder. Their general passes are expensive as it is. Minus one star. 2. They are very strict with the food, beverage policy. Meaning for my large family we have to buy their food and water if we are there for an extended time. Yes, water. If you think they won't stop you at the door, they will have multiple people. Minus one star. They switched this 2 years ago, where it used to be more relaxed. I used to buy my kids something in any case, while I was there, but I refuse now if we are there for under 2-3 hours. 3. This is a minor thing. But their showers and seating areas are just not enough when there is a typical amount of people. Also it is on concrete which is VERY hot and slippery. Also, they start after the public school ends, and are also regularly overfull on nicer days. I'm not out to complain, but it is expensive for families, having to be searched for food and beverages, to keep costs down for our family is also not a positive. This isn't a Valley fair water park. This is North Mankato.
Great pool!! Have been coming here for years, staff has always been kind to us!
This city water park is nice on hot summer days. They take a safety break every hour. The water park is $7/person daily pass. Changing rooms are non-existent, relying on the bathrooms to change. Or at least I didn't see any. There is a concessions stand with pretzels and pizza. The park itself is great with a small 4-perdon water slide, diving platforms, a zip line, and some larger tube slides. Lots of depth variations. Great seating and shade. There is a zero-depth entry as well with handrails. Parking is easy as there is a very large free lot.
