What are people saying (AI review summary)? The facility receives mixed feedback, with the park area generally praised while the pool draws more nuanced opinions. The pool is described as clean, sparkling, and well-maintained, suitable for lap swimming or cooling off. However, several reviewers highlight extremely strict rules (e.g., no splashing, no flotation devices, no loud behavior) and vigilant lifeguard enforcement, which makes it unwelcoming for families with children and can lead to it being empty. Some also noted uncomfortably hot shower water. Conversely, the park is consistently lauded as 'awesome' and 'fantastic,' featuring amenities like BBQs, power outlets, covered picnic tables, public restrooms, a drinking fountain, a kids' play area, and shaded grassy areas, making it a great place to relax and unwind. The pool was noted as closed by some visitors on their trip days. Entry fees are $2 for individuals and $5 for families.

Lovely clean sparkling pool with no one in it. THERE IS ALWAYS A REASON. I believe, based on my experience, that this one involves the oppressive pool rules and the bot life guard enforcing them. No nothing allowed. Mariposa county can't ban kids so they enforce rules to disenfranchise them. Those include the following: "No running, pushing, shoving, dunking, splashing or loud behavior will be permitted in pool area." "No flotation devices and/or floating swimsuits permitted during public swim - No exceptions" So if you are going there to do laps you might enjoy it. The water in the ladies showers was uncomfortably hot. (Great waste of tax money all around.) Individual is $2, family is $5. I would highly recommend not going there with your family though unless you are okay with being constantly scolded.
The pool was closed but the park was awesome bbqs. Power outlets. Covered picnic tables. Public bathrooms. Water Drinking fountain. Play area for kids. treed grassy area. Dog's must be on a leash.. Great to unwind after a twisty exciting windy drive through the pass!
Fantastic small town park with an amazing little pool, very clean and great to cool off on a hot day.
Nice place to sit and have lunch.
The day I went it was closed. But it did look clean and well-maintained.
