What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews present a mixed picture. Positive aspects highlighted include ultra-affordable admission, a great pool, central location, cleanliness, safety, and handicap accessibility. However, a significant number of patrons reported highly negative experiences, primarily due to staff conduct. Complaints detail frequent harassment by lifeguards, including contradictory rules, constant whistling, and unprofessional behavior like yelling at young children. Some reviewers felt unfairly targeted, with specific mentions of rude female lifeguards and a suggestion of potential racial bias. Other issues include rude concession staff and poor management of weather-related delays. These negative encounters caused distress, with children reportedly crying, leading several patrons to state they would not return.

Today was our first time at this public pool and it went awful. The lifeguards spent our entire time harassing us, and each of them told us different rules that contradicted each other. This made it very difficult for us to follow what the rules were, as we were harassed and whistled at each time we tried to follow one. The first lifeguard who was a female, told me that I couldn’t swim with my son in the deep end because it looked like I was helping him. He doesn’t need help, but as his parent, his supervision is up to me and so I simply swam next to him. I got whistled at for it. My son tried to climb the rock wall at its designated entrance spot and got whistled at. They said he could only enter through the ladder. He swam to the ladder and got whistled at again, saying he could only enter through the diving board. So he entered through the diving board. He got whistled at for swimming to the rock wall from the diving board. They said he has to slide off the side under the life guard to enter the rock wall. He tried it the new way again and they whistled at him to get out while he was still in the process of swimming to the ladder. I have never felt so harassed in my life for a service that I payed for. The girls were especially awful. My kids felt like crying. I brought them to the shallow end and my son got whistled at for entering through the ramp. He was on it for barely a second, using it for its purpose. He wasn’t idling. He wasn’t stalling. He was coming off of it to get into the pool. I saw plenty of other parents enjoying the pool with their children, yet despite my efforts to follow the rules, the lifeguards continued their assailant on me and my children. A lady who I met at the pool noticed and offered me her condolences. She is a regular here and according to her, the female lifeguards treat the customers horribly. She said that today they were especially badly behaved and noticed that I had been targeted unfairly. We payed to swim here, but now I know, never again. This may or may not be the reason why, but I will add that I noticed all of the lifeguards are white. All the females were blondes. Perhaps their harassment was racially motivated. In the end, though I also payed for myself, I stayed out of the pool so that my kids could enjoy swimming in peace and not have it look like I was helping them, even though plenty of other parents were doing the same and swimming unbothered.

My 2 year old son was barley running maybe even a sprint and the owner wants to yell at him as we are trying to stop him from going any faster, then has the nerve to whistle as loud as possible at my 2 years olds face to grab his attention. Very unprofessional as well as the kids in the concession area are very rude we will not be returning to put money in these rude unprofessional people’s pockets.
