What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this facility are overwhelmingly negative, highlighting a severe lack of maintenance, cleanliness, and customer service. Recurring complaints include numerous amenities being out of order (elevators, vending machines, hot tub, ice machines, arcade games), closed or unavailable food and beverage services (restaurants, bars, snack shacks), and unsanitary conditions such as cockroaches, stained mattresses, dry-rotted curtains, and filthy water park restrooms with feces and urine. Guests reported insufficient basic room provisions like towels, chairs, and blankets, along with non-functional outlets. Management is frequently described as unfriendly, unhelpful, unresponsive to complaints, and offering inadequate solutions or compensation. The water park itself is noted for cleanliness issues and, in one instance, a fast 'lazy' river. Overall, guests found the experience disappointing, a waste of money, and strongly advised others to avoid the facility, with some suggesting it should be shut down or completely renovated.

Our reservation was for two nights but we had to reschedule. When we arrived, the reservation was for only one night. We were able to add the extra night, before reading the reviews. It's true. The elevator was out of order, the vending machines (at the hotel) were out of order, with expired product visible. The hot tub was out of order (at the water park). The bar and restaurant were closed. In our double Queen room for four adults, there was ONE chair in the room. One of the outlets in the room didn't work. The curtains were dry rotted. We decided NOT to use the lazy river (the reason for our visit) due to the reviews from the previous weekend of sewer back up in the restroom at the water park. The manager was not friendly but had his staff relay negative energy to us. Since there was only ONE chair in the room, we took our games to the lobby at a large table. We took our own snacks and drinks. The manager told his staff to make sure we were in our room by 10pm as he was leaving for evening. Would not recommend this facility in this condition. We will not return.

Really not one single thing about our trip. We get there at check-in around 4 restaurants closed and we were hungry. Water park closed at 6 so we had less than 2 hours. Only given 1 bath towel for 4 people. 90% of the crane games empty, vending machines empty, ice machine broke. I complained to front desk they said a manger would call me, never did. I've called a few more times and never anyone there I can talk to. They said we'll have management call but never do. If I could give them zero Stars I would but I was forced to give them one star. Save your money and go someplace that actually cares about their customers and business

Did not stay at the hotel. The pool are is small but decent. We went on a weekday and it was dead which was nice, however other then some chips in the gift shop there was no food available. I wouldn’t have stayed to eat anyways because the prices were pretty high for what I’m gonna guess is mediocre snack bar food. The kids loved the slides and the the splash pad. The lazy river is anything but lazy. It goes fast especially if you aren’t in a tube. My 5 year old had a hard time getting out of it on his own. The arcade is a complete rip off. Avoid it if possible. Almost all of the claw machines had no prizes in them. And I’m not joking probably a quarter of the games were not working.

We spent a decent amount of money on a suite room that would sleep up to 8, only to pull out the couch bed and find red blotchy stains all over the mattress. Not sure it was food, blood, vomit or some other bodily fluid but regardless it was pretty gross. When I called down to the service desk to tell them I was told I could come down stairs and grab a blanket to put over it. I did not want any of the kids sleeping on whatever that was that probably soaked into the mattress. The manager offered a $30 dollar credit for the sheets which definitely seems like not enough considering we couldn’t use the entire couch bed to sleep our family, which we were planning on. Not to mention no warning about the restaurant, snack shop, hot tub all being closed for the entire day even though it was promised in the price. We were so excited to come here and but very disappointed in the experience and how concerns were handled by management. We will definitely not be recommending anyone to go here.

⭐ 1 Star Review We stayed at Splash Universe in Dundee on Thursday and it was hands-down the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. When we pulled in, the place looked like a ghost town—maybe 3 cars in the lot, and it’s clear lawn care hasn’t been done all summer. Things went downhill quickly from there. First Room: We walked in and immediately saw two cockroaches crawling up the wall. I killed one with my shoe while my three girls were screaming and terrified. When I went to the front desk, the staff member apologized and said, “That happens from time to time,” which is completely unacceptable. She moved us to another room. Second Room: As soon as we opened the door, it reeked of smoke and was hazy inside. This was especially frustrating because at check-in I was required to sign a no-smoking waiver stating I’d lose my deposit if I smoked in the room. When I went back to the desk again, the employee apologized and “upgraded” us. Third Room (Suite): While bigger, it had no blankets on the bunk beds and only two towels in the bathroom. When I called for linens, I was told, “We don’t have a lot of linen.” Keep in mind, there were only about 5 cars in the lot—we saw hardly any other guests. The water park was no better. We arrived when it opened at noon and every toilet had feces inside and urine on the seats. I reported this to a lifeguard. At the top of the slides, there were empty beer cans. The entire waterpark felt unclean and unsafe. Adding to the frustration: The snack shack was closed, leaving no food options (yet no outside food is allowed). Most vending machines were out of order. Half the arcade games didn’t work. Lockers were unavailable. My kids were so uncomfortable and scared we ended up leaving early. It has now been almost a week, and after multiple attempts to contact management, no one has returned my calls and no refund has been issued. ⚠️ Save your money and avoid this place at all costs. Between the filth, bugs, lack of amenities, and zero management response, this hotel and waterpark should be shut down or completely renovated.
