About

Relaxed-locale offering pools for all ages including a toddler pool, plus exercise rooms and a weight room.

The aquatic center at Bill Heddles Recreation Center typically maintains its main pool at 82-84°F (28-29°C), the warm water channel/lazy river at approximately 88-90°F (31-32°C), and the hot tub/spa at around 102-104°F (39-40°C).

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Bill Heddles Recreation Center receives praise for its well-maintained facilities, including a kids' area, lazy river, hot tub, and diving area, with some customers highlighting friendly staff and a wonderful manager. However, numerous negative reviews point to significant issues with staff conduct and operational inconsistencies. Patrons report lifeguards and other staff being overly intrusive, micromanaging parental interactions (even safe play), and exhibiting rude or disrespectful behavior, sometimes making visitors feel harassed or uncomfortable. There are also complaints about inconsistent rule enforcement, particularly regarding dress codes and splashing. Additionally, the center is criticized for its poor communication about closures, leading to unexpected disappointments and wasted trips for visitors. These issues have led some to describe the center as not family-friendly due to the staff's actions.

We love Bill Heddles Recreation Center and we’ve stayed until closing on multiple occasions. I love how they have the kids area when mine want to explore other things but the lazy river is definitely our favorite! The hot tub the diving area is all really well set up. The staff has been friendly and respectful and we’ll be visiting again! - from happy customers

Unfortunately, there is a staff member who believes they are more equipped to look after my child’s safety than his own parents are. I was in the pool gently tossing my son in the air and catching him as dads do while my wife was videoing it. He was absolutely loving it. I was instructed not to play with my own son that way. I’ve been there while kids are throwing each other off the diving board (which I have no issue with because I’m not interested in involving myself in others business and spoiling their fun) but the dad playing with his son in a completely safe manner was a no no. Give me a break!

Love this rec center but they are HORRIBLE about closures without notice. Always call before you go. Learned the hard way today when I drove 30 minutes one-way into town to take my infant to the pool. Checked online, said they were open. Called the front desk for hours, recording said open. Walk in the front door, closed. So so frustrating. Do better rec center!

Was there a few times was repeatingly getting harrased by the life guards in Blue... They even made my daughters feel uncomfortable with weird looks, they kept constantly harrassing people with tattoos.... and people that had kids like if they were to scared to do there job of the worse did happen.... I get it we dont want it too, but there's a different of being prepared and/or instilling fear ( big problem these days) they tried to tell me how to parent... When i was in reach i was just teaching my daughter how to swim.... isnt that what we do in pools people? I'm a native to COLORADO so I even felt the briskest of waters but these people are definitely scared of the water!!!!! Not a FAMILY friendly place at all.... I advise them to stop scaring our kids!!!

Wonderful manager super nice but on the other hand there was a girl with a string bikini and they didn’t say anything to her but I can’t wear a regular bottom and they said I had to change it and they were completely awful to my friend about looking like a guy they also said that my friend can’t splash me she was jumping in barely moved the water but different kids can sit there and drown each other Alexis was the rude and disrespectful staff to me and it was completely not ok and I was super uncomfortable
