Inflatable equipment for kids and adults on a beach-lined lake.
As Tygart Adventures is an aqua park situated directly on Tygart Lake, its 'pools' are the natural waters of the lake itself. Therefore, there are no artificially heated or temperature-controlled pools, and the water temperature naturally fluctuates with the seasonal weather conditions of Tygart Lake.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The waterpark offers a highly enjoyable experience for all ages, from kids (8-12 years old) to grandparents, with clear, good-temperature water and a friendly staff. Ticketing and check-in are easy, and life vests are required and provided. Visitors recommend wearing river shoes due to the rocky beach and shells, and suggest staying in the tree shades to avoid the hot sun. While there are plenty of chairs, some users, including adults and younger children, found certain inflatables challenging or impossible to climb onto due to difficulty or broken footholds. Coolers are allowed (no alcohol), and convenient carts are available for elderly or disabled guests. Despite minor issues with inflatable accessibility, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many planning to return.

What a fun way to spend time on the lake! The water was pretty clear and was a good temperature. Ticketing and check in was easy. The only issue I had was the inability to get on some of the inflatables. I’m of average strength and it took a lot for me to pull myself up on them. Some had broken foot holds. Some no one was able to get on. But it didn’t seem to dampen the fun too much since there were so many.
My husband and I had a fun day! We struggled getting on the rafts cause we’re old and fat but we did get on a couple jumped off. We’re still kids at heart. I would recommend river shoes because it is rocky! They make you wear a life jacket for your protection and after swimming all the way out I can see why. There were plenty of chairs when we got there around 2:30 on a Sunday later in summer. They allow coolers but no alcohol. Lots of fun, check it out!!
Kids, parents, and grandparents all had a blast! Great fun, clean water, and a friendly staff made for a memorable day. We will definitely be back!
Don’t lose your car keys lol. Great place to swim. Highly recommend stay by the tree shades unless you trying to get roasted by the hot sun. By the way if you’re an elder they do provide carts that can take you down to the beach. Very convenient for people with cane or wheelchair.
We visited Tygart Adventures’ floating waterpark this summer with my kids, ages 8–12, and they had an absolute blast! A few things to note: the beach has quite a few shells that can cut your feet, so be careful. Kids younger than 8 may have trouble climbing onto the inflatables since you have to physically pull yourself up. Life vests are required and provided. Overall, it’s a super fun experience for older kids!
