This is a great little water park to spend a day. It has just a few slides, a lazy river, kids pool and a big pool which is just an enough to have a good time. Concessions have a good selection but pricey. Reason for four stars is lack of communication from management when a storm closed the park on our original date and when trying to reschedule. Ended up just showing up on a day and they did honor our original tickets but it would have been better to have known for sure before making the drive.
The Lions Water Adventure park in Kinston is a great place for kids and adults. We were in town celebrate my aunt's birthday and anniversary during the July 4th weekend. I do however, recommend a more 'controlled' way to issue tubes for the lazy river. Otherwise, expect to have a great wet time! You won't have to break the bank to buy food either. We also bought tickets to use the gymnasium/activity center. We played volleyball as a family. That allowed us to bypass the line when it was time to play in the water park.
Lions Water Adventure Park is a hidden gem! The park is clean, well-maintained, and very family-friendly. The lazy river was super relaxing, and the slides gave us just the right amount of excitement. Lifeguards were attentive and friendly, and there were plenty of shaded areas to cool off. Prices for entry and snacks were reasonable, and we loved that the park wasn’t overly crowded. It’s the perfect local getaway on a hot day—definitely worth the trip. We’ll be back for sure!
Tough to get laps in after work on Monday and Tuesdays during the summer but Saturday morning is empty (7:39am) and nice and quiet. Went there Sunday mid afternoon and pool was full so no laps. Will try again but go at noon when they first open.
Went there for birthday party. Nice little water park, City owned and looks to be fairly well maintained. Bathrooms could use a little work but it is a pool area so… I wasn't able to go on the slides due to a recent injury but the kids had a great time and said the slides were great. The staff was attentive and very helpful especially when they realized I had limited mobility.
