Lake for BBQ and swimming with waterslides that often require an extra fee.
As Tomahawk Lake Waterpark primarily utilizes a natural freshwater lake for its attractions rather than artificially heated or cooled pools, the water temperature is not controlled and fluctuates seasonally with the weather conditions, typical of a large natural lake in New Jersey. Specific, consistent pool temperatures are not provided.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for Tomahawk Lake are sharply divided. Negative experiences frequently cite extreme dirtiness, trash, unsanitary bathrooms (including clogged toilets and a person washing clothes in the sink), and health concerns such as bacterial infections from the water. Many also report rude, unprofessional, or unhelpful staff, including lifeguards, and an unsympathetic owner. These visitors often find the park overpriced for its poor quality and unsuitable for families or adults, with some explicitly stating they would not return or trust bringing children there. In contrast, positive reviews describe the lake as a fun and beautiful place for kids, with amenities like slides and boating, often noting it as clean. However, even some positive reviews mention the park can be loud, that entry fees ($18-$22) are a bit high, and suggest staff should better manage children pushing on slides despite addressing adult behavior.

Our experience at Tomahawk Lake was very disappointing. The place was extremely dirty, with trash all over, and there didn’t seem to be any effort to keep the area clean or safe for families. The lifeguards were very rude and unprofessional. Instead of being helpful or respectful, they had a terrible attitude, which is unacceptable in a family-friendly environment. The worst part is that my daughter got a bacterial infection after being in the water. This shows that the lake is not properly maintained or safe for swimming, especially for kids. On top of that, the place is overpriced for what it offers. The cost does not match the quality at all, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to other families. A very unpleasant experience. We will not be going back.
We love it here!! I take my little one here and he has a blast every time. The only thing I wish was different is, I wish the staff would stop children from pushing other children out of the way to get on slides. They yell at the adults but my poor son gets pushed constantly, and I wish they would pay more attention. Other than that, it’s an amazing place
Awful experience, this place is not adult friendly at all. Basically just paid $44 for my sister and I to swim for 2 hours before they kicked us out an hour early. The place is run by teenagers, no adult workers in sight. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, I walked into the female bathroom and a man was washing his clothes in the sink, all toilets clogged with toilet paper. Owner was completely unsympathetic and unapologetic. I wouldn't trust bringing my children here.
It's a beautiful paid small waterpark. Good for kids. 18$ ticket per person parking available. Restroom changing room available. Huge slides and boating inside park for additional price besides entry fees. Very clean and huge park lot of games for kids. Visit in summer. Big trail
Very lovely area. It can become quite loud with large groups of people around but great family fun. I would also say priced at $22 per person to enter is a bit much but still enjoyable.
