About

Clean, family-friendly public aquatic center with 4 pools, a waterslide and a lazy river.

The lap tank at Osborn Aquatic Center is generally maintained at 80-81°F, while the leisure pool is kept warmer at 86-88°F. The spa/hot tub typically operates at 102-104°F.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? This facility is generally praised for being a large, fun, and clean pool with friendly staff and various features like a water slide, lazy river, and play areas. It's considered one of the best options in its Oregon region. However, a significant number of reviews highlight severe operational and management issues. These include constantly changing and limited hours, often without warning, making planning difficult, especially for working parents. There are frequent closures, such as the indoor pool for roof repairs during summer, delayed openings due to staffing and maintenance issues, and certain attractions (like the lazy river) being unavailable during advertised 'open rec' times. Many reviewers express deep frustration with the 'ridiculous schedule' and the overall struggle of management, leading to calls for better and more accessible pool options in the Corvallis/Philomath area.

The facilities and staff are great, but whoever owns the place is just not able to run it somehow. Even on a normal year, they close the outdoor area early in the year for how hot it is. This year, they opened even later because of roof problems and staffing issues, then their hours kept changing without any warning, you have to always check their hours on their website (Google maps has been incorrect). It makes it hard to plan anything, especially with kids. Then in general, their hours are basically impossible if you're a working person and harder if you're a working parent, and the hours keep getting more and more limited. No clue what is going on, but whoever runs the business is struggling and it's affecting the whole functionality of the facility.

So as a summer club we have gone to this pool the last 3 or 4 years, with the exception of 2024. They were closed. So this year we were excited to go back. The staff here is very nice but this year they were a little disconnected. We were told rec swim was 12 to 3, however, the lazy river and the basketball pool were both closed until 1. The inside area was closed for corrosion of the ceiling. So for an hour everyone was in the small kids area! A little intense 🤣 I thought they were getting a makeover the year they were closed. That was not the case 😳

Check hours before you arrive! Even if the open hours are all day, they won’t let you in for general pool use except during “open rec” times, a dramatically limited subset of their open hours.

CORVALLIS NEEDS ANOTHER/ BETTER POOL! So sick of the ridiculous schedule for the public to swim. There is ALWAYS something interfering, weather it’s swim lessons for toddlers, swim lessons for adults, lap swimming, women’s swimming , ect. the list goes on. This summer the indoor pool is closed so they can work on the roof. Why do they choose to work on it during the 2 while summer months they are open? They don’t open until the end of June. Just fed up with the pool options for Philomath & Corvallis (non existent)! Do None of the high schools have indoor pools where they can do swimming lessons? This summer, the pool is open 4 days a week. Only 3 hours Tues & Thurs and 5 hours Saturday! Wow! Stop traffic! I’m sick of the ridiculous schedule, we need another pool! Why even bother being open for recreation swim & have a Hydro tube slide if your hardly open? What’s the point?

For this area in Oregon, this is as big and fun a pool as you get! It is a busy day, yet all seems clean and well cared for. You can use your own lock on the lockers in the changing rooms. There are concessions for snacks/ ice cream, but you are also welcome to bring your own food and drink (no glass). There is a large water slide, many water features in the leisure pool and open space for kids to play in the two indoor pools (check the pool schedule online for when indoor pools are available).
