What are people saying (AI review summary)? The facility offers a diverse range of activities, including tennis, kayaking, paddleboarding, and aerobics classes, alongside a popular, family-friendly pool with a deep end, lifeguards, and available snacks. Many reviewers praised the affordable paddle rentals and good service, as well as the great views. However, some common criticisms include unclean bathrooms and non-functioning showers. A particularly concerning incident involved a staff member, identified as a lifeguard, who reportedly refused assistance and demonstrated a lack of empathy during a customer's watercraft emergency, prioritizing private beach rules over safety, which raised serious questions about staff training and adherence to safety protocols. The venue is also noted to be frequently crowded.

they offer a wide range of activities (tennis, kayaking) and classes (aerobics). popular place, pool has a deep end that goes to 6 ft with two lanes. bathrooms were a bit grody and all the showers were out of order, not sure if thats the norm. has a good amount of chairs and lounge chairs. great view as well!
I was paddling around the lake on my inflatable paddleboard (my own, I did not rent through them) when the seam broke open. The beach at the Outfitters was the closest land I could get to, and by the time I got there, it was clear that my board was out of air and I was experiencing a watercraft emergency. The woman who was working at the Outfitters immediately came over to tell me I couldn't pull in because it was a private beach. I told her that I was sorry, but I had an emergency, and explained that my board was out of air. She said, "OK, but next time don't use this beach." She never offered to help, never expressed concern or asked if I was ok. She just told me to hurry up and move my board. I understand that she had a tour group to take out, but frankly I was in a bit of shock and very shaken. She came back out a second time to tell me to make sure that I didn't use the private beach next time. The thing that troubled me most was that she was wearing a lifeguard shirt, and works for a paddle company. The rules and expectations are really clear for what a lifeguard should do during a watercraft emergency, and I would not feel any kind of safety taking a paddling tour with this group if this is how they train their guides/lifeguards.
Great affordable paddle on Lake Junaluska.. A family of 4 cost $37 total for an hour. You wouldn’t need more than that time as the lake isn’t very big.
We rented paddle boards for 10$ per hour. Good service
Love love the pool. Wonderful big lake. Can rent paddle boats. Great place for all your family. I can't wait to go back with my grand babies. Life guards, small snacks, usually packed, Kids 2 and under I know get in free. Adults $10 a piece
