Cannot say enough good things about Shawnee Splash Water Park, it made MY WHOLE SUMMER SPECIAL My son left for California and I was sad and then I bought the senior pass to Shawnee Splash Water Park and had the time of my life. The pools are so beautiful and clean and the water is so refreshing during hot summer days. So much fun to come The pool is run by Sue Ellen with her assistant Crystal and top lifeguard David And I can't say enough good things about these folks. Sue Ellen is an excellent leader and Crystal and David have commanding positions under her and always act so kind and humble. Their joie de vivre resonates to all the lifeguards there, who always do their job safeguarding children and elderly and every age between but with a sense of joy and happiness that makes every patron feel happy and special. IT's soooo much fun to go. There's beautiful music playing but not too loud. Adds to the joy of the blue water and the sound of splashing water. Just H E A V E N. I"m a senior and I got the senior pass and I highly recommend getting a season pass. And making a regular stop, at least 5 times a week and swimming for 30 minutes I don't stay the whole day, I get my exercise and I go. And I feel refreshed and invigorated and happy and I sleep like a baby after swimming at Shawnee Pool. The lifeguards are all super attractive and nice and friendly, and the walk around in matching red swimsuits and it just adds to the festive air of the pool. So many people are having a blast going down the slide or climbing the AquaSlides, I love the top pool which is deep and has a nice breeze and it's fun to watch folks jumping off the diving boards from there. The bottom pool is awesome too and I love to swim in it, and there's folks playing basketball there and having fun. And then there's kiddie pools, even a kiddie wave pool. And the kiddies are all happy. It's just a VERY VERY VERY happy place to go and enjoy summer and COOL OFF! I love it and you will too! Thank you Shawnee Splash Pool! Every lifeguard there is special. DAVID is the managing LIFEGUARD and just friggin' awesome. Strong and supervisory all while keeping a humble kind attitude and always being there for his STAFF. Like ALWAYS being there. Kaya and Terra are super supervising lifeguard, and shows signs of moving up the fast track, both gals follows the rules and makes sure patrons do.Look like sisters, all American blondes. RAIN in the snackshack is just an ANGEL, she looks like an angel and acts like one, as are Ramsey, the sweet Daisy, and the heroic Austin. Landon let me know she worked more hours than anyone this summer. She is sooo pretty and a light shines from in her, reminds me of a beautiful 60s flower child. Hadley and Kattlyn, are great guards, so pretty and have the whitest teeth. They are best friends. Supervising guards (they wear blue swimsuits not red) Kaya, Landon, Lyle, Garrett , Terra all assist DAVID, the HEAD LIFEGUARD. Haylee, John, Eli, Bayle and MaryBeth are adorable guards too. I can't remember all the names but there wasn't one lifeguard there that didn't do a GREAT JOB and add a special flair to each patron's summer. Such a joy to see all those beautiful young people working together and bringing happiness to all of Pottawatomie County. Thank you all! AND ESPECIALLY THANK YOU TO SUE ELLEN, who brought this all together, hired the nicest, best people and makes a Disneyland style pool look effortless and brings all this joy to Pottawatomie County! And HUGE thanks to CRYSTAL and DAVID for being RIGHT THERE assisting her! David, you are just too friggin' kind, strong and adorable(authoritative with a smile and humble patient nature). Whoever marries this man will have a good life! Heaven is RIGHT HERE IN SHAWNEE! One sad thing, I am already going into SHAWNEE POOL withdrawal as it closes soon until next MAY! Guards are on point and that’s most likely because of the management running a smooth pool. Clean, fun, and spread out for a variety of hangout areas or places to splash around. The high dive is where it’s at! That thing is awesome!

Fun place but some of the lifeguards make the experience a lot less fun. They have all these strict rules and then basically pick and choose what people they get on to for breaking them. I was singled out for having shorts on, but I watched 3 other people being allowed to just walk around in shorts and tanks that also weren't swimwear. Not a thing was said to them. Then my daughter was singled out for not going down the slide the "correct" way but then another lifeguard goes to that post 10 mins later and everyone is suddenly allowed to do it again. Then my other daughter was singled out for playing on the kiddie slide alone, I was pulled to the side and talked to because apparently I wasn't standing close enough to her. I was standing on the side of that slide with about 4 other parents that were standing right where I was, also watching their kids from the same distance. Only person that got in trouble was me. I brought it up and the lifeguard said she isn't going to argue with me and walked away from me. Highly annoying. I get rules are rules but make it make sense.

Not a great place to go especially when they always have the big pools shut down and leave out the fact that there’s over 100 not even that, there was like atleast 200 people in the small pool area, spent my money to walk out 5 seconds later, not even wet and they refuse to give me my money back. Absolutely ridiculous. Next time staff should mention how crowded it is before letting anybody in because you can not see the kid pool area from the entrance. Or maybe even have a no refund Sighn by the cash register.

If I could give 0 Stars I would… This place has gotten worse over the years… Last year we bought passes… and they made it awful for us and the kids.. this year we skipped passes and decided to go try it out today… and it was just freaking awful.. first they made my husband get out as soon as we get there literally because of the shirt he was wearing said “either take it off or you can be in the water” My husband wasn’t comfortable taking his shirt off at all.. so he sat out and then ended up going to buy a shirt that they “approved” of after seeing lots of men with shirts on (not swim wear) Then tried to make him pay to get back in from going to get a shirt … Next he was barely lifting our daughter and tossing her arms link away from him nd they blew their whistles they are so proud of and told him to stop he can’t do that… They measured my daughter during entry she was exactly 48’ didnt give her a bracelet She went down the slide sooo many times with her brothers and then they just randomly made her stop because “she wasn’t tall enough” Made her cry… Then kept hounding my autistic son with sensory issues about his underwear he was wearing under his swim trunks… The proceeded to blow that whistle at my husband for holding our daughters hand going down the slide after they made a big deal he had to be with her but can’t hold her hand while going down the slide and also telling him he can’t wear his hat in the pool…. They just take the entire fun out of this place… literally I get safety and all that But this stuff is just absolutely ridiculous… The life guards are way to cocky and rude Especially the females… There was like 1 female lifeguard that was very nice and didn’t blow her whistle at stupid crap.. and the males was very nice and playful with my boys… This place needs new better staff and management maybe if that is who is having them be this way.. idk but I don’t recommend this place anymore -10/10 Take your kiddos else where to have a good time
