What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the pool are generally positive, highlighting its beautiful design, well-staffed environment, and status as a beloved family tradition for many years. Patrons often describe the water as cool and refreshing. However, there was one significant negative incident involving a specific lifeguard who misidentified a child's age, became confrontational when corrected, and subsequently banned a large family group (12 people) from the pool and all YMCA facilities, even calling the police, seemingly due to disliking being told he was wrong. Additionally, one review notes a recent change in ownership, meaning it is no longer a city pool and now charges a $3 fee for non-residents.

There is a lifeguard (a ginger male with right leg tattoos) who decided to say that my nephew was five years old and swimming in the deep end when he is 8 years old. Then when his parents tried to tell the lifeguard his age he had a problem. Then when his grandma made a joke to my nephew that we need to stretch him so he wasn't told he was younger than his actual age. The ginger male lifeguard decided he didn't like that and said that if they didn't like the rules then get out of his pool. They decided to leave willingly and then he came over and began to rush them. There were 12 of them, and they weren't even allowed to get dressed. And as they were in the car and ready to go that same lifeguard called the cops on them. Then the cop said that the ginger male had banned them from the pool and any YMCA facility pool. All because he didn't like being told he was wrong.
Had a great time. It was as busy today
Beautifully designed pool, well staffed located in a beautiful park.
Love going here, 3 minute car ride from our house! It’s been a family tradition for over 30 years and now our grandchildren enjoy it every summer! Has improved greatly over the years. Great staff, and surroundings relatively clean considering the amount of use it gets. Yes, the pool can be cool, but it’s a COOL POOL!
Absolutely refreshing. The water is always cooler than expected. However, the pool has switched ownership and is no longer a CITY POOL. So... If you do not live in town, they will try to coerce you into forking over $3. With enough backlash and convincing you can slip through. Nonetheless, don't miss out on a trip to the Wilbur Pool.
