What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the facility are mixed but lean positive, primarily highlighting its extensive features such as a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, indoor track, various courts, and weight room, which many find to be a great alternative for fitness. Several reviewers commend the facility's cleanliness, friendly staff, reasonable pricing, and family-friendly atmosphere, with some specifically praising the well-maintained outdoor areas and clean locker rooms. However, one highly critical review strongly contradicts these positive sentiments, detailing significant cleanliness issues, particularly with the hot tub (described as having grimy tiles and brownish water) and the sauna (uncleaned). This reviewer also expressed concern about an unhygienic, porous cork-like flooring in the locker rooms/showers showing signs of mold/dirt, extreme water pressure in showers, and a lack of rinsing showers near the sauna. Other specific concerns mentioned include a strong Wi-Fi signal raising 'radiation' health worries, and staff struggling to manage a surge in new member sign-ups.

I go mostly for the pool, sauna, and hot tub. I’m glad that there are water features and the pool is nice, but the hot tub is never properly cleaned. The tiles are always grimy, the water is usually brownish, and a lot of sauna users go straight from the sauna into the pool or hot tub and they don’t have showers near the sauna for people to rinse off the sweat before getting in the water. The sauna also doesn’t get cleaned. The locker rooms and showers have a new floor, but it makes no sense for a bathroom and showers. It’s cork or a cork like material that is extremely porous and not hygienic, and it is also black in a lot of places (from mold and/or dirt). I don’t know if it ever gets health inspections, but I don’t see how it could ever pass one. The water pressure in the showers is really extreme, like a pressure washer, so it’s hard to take a shower. It’s frustrating because we don’t have many, if any, other options for water features in town. I really wish they would take the cleanliness of the pool area features more seriously. I have spent so much time at other spas and water facilities that have saunas and hot tubs and I have never seen anything as disgusting as this rec center. The facilities have a lot of great features. The walking track, courts, and weight room are good although I don’t use them often enough to say much about them.

Beautiful quiet place to take the rug rats. Very well maintained , plenty of seats in the shade.

This is such a nice facility! Swimming pool, indoor track, hot tub, different courts. It's all kept really clean and very nice. Locker rooms are also very clean too! They have an outdoor water park as well for kids. It's just all around a very family friendly place! Highly recommend this as a gym!

This facility was renovated and expanded by an insurance company. How healthy is this place? The wifi signal inside the facility is strong enough to radar cook an egg. I stopped going during the pandemic but my insurance added a half membership. The facility staff is caught unable to handle the added signup process for the new members. Im weighing the benefits of swimming and working out against the radiation tempest brain cooking that fries the staff. Drop the wifi.

Being away from my fitness studio @orangetheory is not easy…however, the Roosevelt Recreation Center in Fairfield, IA was a great alternative. The price was very reasonable and the options were fantastic (running track, rowers, weight room, and so much more). The space was very clean and the staff friendly. #fitover60 #nevermissamonday
