About

Burdette Pool, officially known as Burdette Park Aquatic Center, is a popular outdoor public aquatic facility located at 5301 Nurrenbern Rd, Evansville, IN. It is a family-friendly destination offering a large main pool, a lazy river, multiple water slides (including a drop slide and a tube slide), a zero-entry area for young children, and a splash pad. The facility also typically includes concession stands and shaded areas, providing a comprehensive summer recreation experience.

Specific, consistently maintained pool temperatures for Burdette Pool are not typically advertised. As an outdoor public aquatic facility, the water temperature generally fluctuates with ambient air temperature and weather conditions, rather than being heated to a precise or constant degree.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Burdette Pool is generally appreciated for its aquatic attractions, professional lifeguards, and affordability, with some visitors enjoying the slides and pool. However, multiple reviews express significant concerns regarding cleanliness, citing disgusting restrooms (unclean, odorous, soiled walls, non-functional showers), dirty concession areas with overflowing trash and food on the floor, and unkempt grounds. A major complaint is the lack of free drinking water, with no water fountains in the aquatic center and bottled water costing $2, leading to dehydration for one guest. Long, slow entry lines and poor crowd management are also frequently mentioned issues.

just now New I’ve always loved Burdette Pool, it’s been a mainstay my entire life. But BRING YOUR OWN WATER!!!! Yesterday I brought plenty of water, but it spilled. I went to ask how much water was in the gift shop building. The girl was very sweet, she told me that water is $2/bottle and NO water fountains in the aquatic center, period. We talked about how this is so wrong, if you paid $8 to get in, you deserve a water fountain. I have a condition that causes chronic thirst, I always need water within my reach. Needless to say, my $4 worth of water didn’t last long, and I just had to go, I got so dehydrated. I’ve always said Burdette Park just needs to put in a lazy River, and I’d be there every day. That’s a lot to ask for (although please consider it), I think access to clean drinking water is the bare minimum.

We were super excited to take our grandkids to Burdette, since they had never been. I understand that when the pool was so full we had to park a mile away, but I don't understand why you don't open up more lines for entry. The line stretched all the way down the stairs, and it took forever for us to pay. The lines moved super slow, and then you've got swimmers coming out, cutting in front of you wanting their hands stamped in the same line. This needs to change. You need additional lines to move things along quicker. Also, none of the showers worked in the ladies' locker room. We enjoyed the pool, but the overall cleanliness and the amount of time it took to enter the pool are reasons I gave this 3 stars.

The pool was awesome, but the concession area tables and floor were nasty. Food and trash lay everywhere. They had enough people working to be able to come out and wipe off tables and sweep up the trash. The trash can was over flowing. Just gross

Our family of 5 visited yesterday for the first time. We enjoyed the pool, slides, and other attractions in the Aquatic Center. Your lifeguards were on top of it and handled everything in a professional manner. That is why I am giving it 4 stars, but I really feel that you deserve 3 for the cleanliness of your grounds. My husband and I grabbed some food at your main concession stand around 1:30. The first thing I noticed was the trash on the ground around the picnic tables that was starting to pile up. The condiment area and inside of the concession stand did not appear to have this problem. Our food was delicious and hot. The restrooms were disgusting. My husband and boys reported to me that the men were not clean, and I could tell you by the odor that was inside the women's that it had not been cleaned in a while. The walls of the stall that I used were soiled, and anyone could have picked up a disease or infection! Evansville already does not have many places for families to swim, so I hope by the time we visit again that these issues are resolved.
