About

The Butler County Family YMCA, located at 339 N Washington St, Butler, PA 16001, USA, is a community-focused organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. It offers a wide range of facilities and programs including a fitness center, group exercise classes, aquatics (featuring lap swim, open swim, and swim lessons), youth sports, childcare services, and various community-centric initiatives.

Specific pool temperatures for the Butler County Family YMCA are not readily available in publicly accessible online information. YMCAs typically maintain their general-purpose and lap pools at a comfortable temperature, often in the low to mid-80s Fahrenheit.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? This YMCA generally receives positive feedback for its friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, well-maintained pool and locker rooms, and good gym equipment and courts. Members appreciate the variety of classes, with instructors offering modifications for all fitness levels, and special mention was made of effective swimming lessons for children with autism. The dry sauna and steam room are highly valued amenities, particularly in the women's health center. However, there are significant complaints regarding the facility closing earlier than its stated hours, preventing access to amenities. Another key concern is the choice of music played in the women's health center, which some find depressing, lyrically inappropriate for a 'Christian association,' and disruptive to relaxation. While considered a great place to work out, some note the pool is smaller than other Ys and membership is not considered cheap.

I love the this Y but if your going to say your open till 8 don’t lock you doors at 7:30. I wanted to go in the steam room for 10 minutes and I couldn’t because they closed 30 minutes early. The membership here is not cheap. I should be able to go to the steam room for 10 minutes and still be out by 8.

Very helpful staff. I enjoy coming and seeing them when I workout or have my recruit calls at the Y.

Not the best YMCA I’ve been to, but it’s up there. The pool albeit a bit smaller than most Y pools is well maintained, as well as their locker rooms. The gym is fine with equipment. The courts are also fine. I think this one is great, just not the best.

A great place to work out. I love the classes. Everyone is friendly and no one care what level you are at. The instructors always offer modifications for each fitness level. My autistic son has also really enjoyed group swimming lessons. Patrick is great with him.

EDITED: after being at this Y for six months now, my review below still stands. My only big complaint is the music choice blasting in the women’s health center the past several weeks. Classic Rock would be fine, but whatever station they are on plays darker songs with depressing lyrical content. My main goal is relaxation in the whirlpool then meditate in the steam room but it’s a bummer to go back into locker room and hear “Running With the Devil” blasting in my ears at a Christian association. I’m moving to Cranberry soon so it won’t be a problem for me soon. The staff are wonderful, especially the cheery woman who cleans the Y … she’s a delight. Original Review: I love the Butler YMCA! I go between the Cranberry Y and Butler Y but prefer Butler (even though I love the big track in Cranberry) and consider it my “home gym” as it’s close by, fabulous and caring staff, clean facilities, friendly members, a warm locker room and I especially love the dry sauna and steam room in the woman’s health center. I’m healing from adrenal fatigue after a move back home from across the country and healing quickly attending the gym 4 days a week for a walk and a soak in the saunas. Thank you!
