About

Modern, clean and welcoming gym for lap swimming and fitness classes, with childcare.

The facility features two main pools: a Warm Water Pool, which is maintained at a comfortable 88-90 degrees Fahrenheit (31-32 degrees Celsius), and a Lap Pool, kept at a refreshing 78-80 degrees Fahrenheit (25.5-26.5 degrees Celsius) for lap swimming.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The YMCA facility receives positive feedback for its modern construction, wide array of exercise classes (including HIIT and senior programs), and comprehensive equipment, particularly the plentiful squat racks and weights which prevent bottlenecks. Staff are generally noted as helpful, and childcare is appreciated. However, recurring issues significantly impact member satisfaction. Parking is consistently described as inadequate and a major source of frustration, often leading to missed classes and 'no-show' penalties. Cleanliness in the communal showers and locker rooms is a serious concern, with reports of dirtiness, neglect, and unpleasant odors. Communication is also a significant problem, with instances of unannounced class cancellations and unaddressed member inquiries regarding issues. One member also experienced an adult program that was inappropriately tailored for youth, leading to a negative experience. These issues, combined with program costs, lead some to feel the overall experience falls short of expectations.

The Y is a great facility. As a senior I enjoy the wide variety of exercise classes that are offered. HOWEVER, like many members, I am extremely frustrated with the inadequate parking in their lot. Sometimes I am unable to attend a class I signed up for because I can not find a parking spot, and consequently when that happens it goes on record as a "no show"...(and you're penalized if more than 3 in a given time period). Sometimes there may be a line of 5 or more cars waiting for a spot, with the line extending into the side street. It's crazy! Unfortunately there is no remedy to this problem. It's something you just have to live with. If you're lucky you may find a side street parking space or one at the library, and you better rule out parking at the co-op unless you want to risk getting a $45 parking ticket like I did recently. So, that's the reality, and that's why I can't give the Y the 5 stars it deserves.

Lovely facility! Great for swimming, weights, basketball, sauna, pickleball and workout classes. I especially enjoy the HIIT classes and childcare while I workout with my wife. Only problem is parking so if you can walk, Uber, carpool or take a bus I’d suggest doing that instead of hoping for a spot.

We’ve had a very disappointing experience at the Burlington YMCA. I signed up my daughter for swim lessons, which was difficult enough due to high demand. But on two separate occasions, we drove from Colchester only to find that no instructor showed up—and worse, there was zero communication from the YMCA about these cancellations. Despite following up with the swim instructor supervisor and a senior customer service person—multiple phone calls and emails—I received no response at all. The lack of accountability and communication is incredibly frustrating, especially given how expensive the program is. Parking is another huge issue—it’s consistently a nightmare to find a spot. On top of all that, the communal showers in the swim area are dirty and often neglected. Even on a Saturday morning at 10 a.m., they’re visibly unclean. For what you’re paying, the experience falls far below expectations. Definitely not what I’d expect from a community-focused organization. Would not recommend.

Three stars for being a typical public gym. The pool and gym are great as long as you don't use the locker rooms. The showers are covered in boogers, and the women's locker room smells BAD. If you're a germaphobe... just make a system where you don't ever have to use the locker rooms or downstairs bathrooms. But what made me just cancel my membership was that Thursday night Adult volleyball turned out to be a Michael Scott skit for me. I would strongly recommend someone change "adult volleyball" to "youth volleyball" on the website so that no other bright-eyed thirty-something relives traumatic highschool flashbacks. I wish the staff could've given me a heads up while I was pacing around for 30 minutes beforehand, anxious as heck after psyching myself up for weeks to get myself to try out volleyball. Left the Y in actual tears after walking over to stretch with a bunch of teens waiting for an inexistent adult to walk-in, then slowly swerving back to the other side of the gym by myself when I realized these kids (who were going on twenty minutes of completely ignoring me) all saw me as an old weirdo who couldn't read the room; sooooo cringe. As an audhd Burlington-newbie... the Y is just not it.

Beautiful newly constructed YMCA facility with great very helpful and knowledgeable staff. They have an abundance of all the equipment and weights that I like to have available including a couple of the things used less frequently that I find many gyms don’t have. The very numerous squat racks and dead lift weights is AWESOME too!… avoiding a usual bottle neck of weight time I see all too often in other gyms
