Relaxed outdoor pool complex with a kids' area and a shallow pool, plus a skatepark.
The main 8-lane competitive pool at the Aransas County Community Aquatic Center is typically heated and/or cooled to maintain a comfortable temperature, often targeted around 80-82°F (26.7-27.8°C) for general use and competitive swimming.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Community Aquatic Center receives mixed reviews, highlighting both positive aspects and significant operational frustrations. Patrons generally praise the clean facilities, well-maintained restrooms and changing rooms, and friendly staff and lifeguards. Daily admission is considered reasonably priced, and the center offers various activities like classes, lap swimming, and dedicated pools for children. However, several users reported considerable disappointment due to operational inconsistencies. These include last-minute class cancellations by contract instructors, insufficient lifeguard staffing leading to closures of certain pool sections, and poor communication regarding schedules, resulting in unexpected delays and limited access. Families also found the layout problematic, as the main and kiddy pools are separated by facilities, making supervision challenging. Additionally, annual pass pricing was noted as high with no discounts for seniors, and online pricing information was not readily available.

Omgoodness!!!!The Community Aquatic Center is one our favorite field trip and family pools in Rockport. Admission is reasonably priced. And the restrooms & changing rooms are very well kept. What really sold us was their friendly staff and super-kind lifeguards. We hope you get to go and hangout there this summer !
Very disappointing experience here. When we arrived at 9:50am today the front desk lady was going to let us purchase passes even though water aerobics was about to start and the kid portion of the pool was closed due to them not having enough life guards. Before paying I asked where we could swim and she said that we couldn’t swim until the class was over. I asked when the class was over and she said 11:00am. We left and came back at 11:05. The class was still going on and she then informed us that after the class was done the life guards would need to take a break until 11:45! We decided to leave because we didn’t think paying full price for only half of the amenities and waiting around to swim was worth it. My kids were bummed and I wasn’t thrilled with the experience.
Paid for a 6 entry pass for the pool this morning in order to go to the scheduled afternoon exercise class. When I showed up for the class at 3:00pm I was told that the instructor Jennifer had decided to cancel at the spur of the moment due to pool being very busy with kids out of school. Many many folks left after showing up for the class. Desk staff said that instructor is a private contractor and could choose to cancel as desired.I suggest that they section off part of pool for the classes or find a solution during peak summer hours to accommodate both classes and public swim. They do close pool for their zumba classes so not sure why they don't find a solution for the water aerobics classes. Maybe use the same non contractor instructor for the aerobics classes? Lots of old folks here that need water exercises. Very dissapointing and likely instructor will cancel often now pool is busy with the out of school kids. I'm giving it a one!
I was unable to find pricing info online. It's $5 per person. The big pool and the kiddy pool are separated by the bathrooms/showers. So if you have kids in both age groups, it's impossible to watch them both. We had to keep going back and forth. Otherwise very clean and not crowded.
Beautiful pools, one geared toward kiddos. I took a look around, didn’t swim. Bathrooms were clean. Lifeguards we’re at the ready. They have a couple of classes that look fun, set times for lap swimming, open swimming, even have a doggo dip day. Bad part: $200 a year! $150 for your partner. No discount for elderly or Medicare, which is a shame. Really nice facilities tho. Also, it is outdoors, so bring the sunscreen.
