What are people saying (AI review summary)? Quest Fitness elicits mixed reviews, often praised for its modern, well-maintained equipment and a welcoming, supportive, and inspiring environment. Many members highly value the friendly front desk staff, a wide variety of engaging classes, and amazing, knowledgeable instructors (with Hayley specifically highlighted) who make workouts personal and motivating. The gym is frequently described as clean, professional, and a top facility in Southern Maine, offering sufficient equipment for diverse fitness levels. However, there are significant criticisms. One particular staff member in membership management, Sharon, is cited for confrontational and condescending customer service. Concerns include a perceived decline in gym culture, with some members exhibiting disrespectful behaviors such as crowding equipment, dropping weights, and leaving messes, which staff reportedly do not address. The weight section is considered too small, leading to overcrowding, especially given only one squat rack. Other issues mentioned are unreliable soap dispensers, locker rooms needing more frequent cleaning, and safety concerns like speeding in the parking lot that go unaddressed. Some members feel the $80/month fee is high given these issues, noting that a lack of local competition is the primary reason they maintain their membership.

I absolutely adore the staff and the people that workout here! The facility and equipment are very modern. Located in a historical Kennebunk where the grounds are well maintained. The classes are a wonderful way to meet people and to push yourself. The instructors are amazing and make each day special, personal, and enjoyable. I highly recommend this gym because I’ve never felt so welcome and motivated at any gym before. Here at Quest Fitness fitness is the goal, not classic negative gym behaviors.
Front desk staff are fairly friendly. Can't say the same for Sharon in membership management. She does not know that she works in a customer service role. Confrontational and condescending from the start of the interaction. If I didn't need the pool, I would have walked out and never joined. As for the gym itself, the equipment is in working order with signs of wear. Locker rooms could be cleaned more often, and the provided studio dispensers would be great if they reliability dispensed soap. Overall, it's ok and does the job.
Quest is the most comfortable gym environment I've ever been to. Quest is: inviting, accommodating, clean, professional, fun, invigorating, inspiring and quite frankly the most supportive and best facility in Southern Maine. If you're looking to move your body and feel better inside and out I would highly recommend getting a tour and seeing what Quest is all about. It will change your life for the better. Any class you can take with Hayley will inspire you to be the best version on yourself. Her smile and grace will turn a light on inside you and warm you from the inside out. By the end of the class you will be smiling from ear to ear.
The best way to describe this place is , it's a do it all gym. It doesn't specialize (no designated power lifting or crossfit areas for example) but it has more than enough equipment for 1st timers up to advanced lifters(dumbbells stop at 100lbs) and a variety exercise classes are available. The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable with many having degrees in fitness/ nutrition fields in addition to basic certifications. I've been coming here for 2 years and will likely be a member as long as I live in this area.
All these positive reviews. I really wish I could see it. I find the culture at Quest to be... ok. It feels like it's been declining and nobody at the gym really seems to care. There is a growing contingent of gym-goers who don't do their part to maintain a safe and welcoming space. They will crowd around equipment, drop weights unnecessarily, leave messes for others to clean up, act crass and immature, and generally disrespect the space. I've been observing speeding in the parking lot. Other gym-goers have told me recently they almost got hit by speeders in the parking lot. Totally unacceptable! Or at least, it should be, but it doesn't feel like Quest cares, since this all goes on under the staff's watchful eye. Putting all that aside, the weight section is waaaay too small, so it gets crazy crowded every evening. There's one squat rack, so good luck on leg day getting in there between everyone doing bicep curls or whatever. 100% the only reason I continue to pay them 80 dollars a month for this experience is because there's no competition in this town. There is a lot of room for improvement here. On the upside, the equipment they have is well maintained. But that is the bare minimum to offering a good gym experience.
