About

Large facility with a 25m section of the cold pool, a warm pool, and an outdoor waterpark for warm weather.

The 25-yard Main Pool is maintained at 82 degrees Fahrenheit. The Warm Water Therapy Pool is kept at a comfortable 92 degrees Fahrenheit, and the Spa operates at 102 degrees Fahrenheit. The seasonal Outdoor Leisure Pool's water temperature is typically 84 degrees Fahrenheit.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Forest Grove Aquatic Center offers various amenities like large pools, water slides, a diving board, a warm pool, and an outdoor splash area, often without excessive crowds. However, the facility faces significant criticism regarding staff helpfulness, communication, and management responsiveness. Major safety concerns have been raised, including an incident where a child nearly drowned during swim lessons due to inattentive staff and lifeguards, with subsequent complaints of a lack of accountability from management. Hygiene is another issue, with reports of infrequent pool cleaning (once a year) and a strong chlorine smell attributed to chemical use. Some patrons also feel the pricing is high for the available amenities, noting small pools, frequently broken hot tubs, and better value at other aquatic centers.

Least helpful staff I have ever had the displeasure with dealing with. First time at the swim lessons with our three kids 5 and below and no communication as to where to go. No one wanted to help and then even though we got there early we were late and the instructor made a comment on it. We got there fifteen minutes early but no staff would answer questions or would direct us to where the swimming pool is for the little ones. Very frustrating.

Whenever I go here it's good but I just recently looked up when they have last cleaned it... it's already been a few months and I called one of the workers at the Forest grove aquatic center and they said that they don't wash the pools that frequently it's only once a year. So when somebody would have an accident in the water they just use chemicals to even it out. Now fo you understand why it smells so strong of chlorine?

Standard public pool experience for the most part, bonus points for giant 20 person spaces pool and it not usually very crowded. Nice variety of swims (public, fitness, aerobic, rentals, classes, etc). Outdoor splash area for kids. 2 big water slides and a diving board in the big pool. There's also a warm pool about 90°. Mesh bags available in locker room to bring and hang on a rack near the pool if you need to keep an eye on your stuff, or lockers are available judt bring your own lock. Friendly staff too.

This was my sons first experience with swim lessons without a parent in the water with him. We did not want to take our eyes off him and I am GLAD we paid close attention. At the end of the class during "free-play" I had to leave the sitting area and run over to tell someone to get him as he was DROWNING. He is not tall enough to stand in the water and can not swim. He left the wall following suit with most of the other older and taller children in the pool and could not get above water. Another mother had to walk over and do the same thing for her daughter in the same class. This is two kids within the span of 3 minutes. The lifeguards on duty seem very bored and do not pay much attention. The instructor of his specific class did not appear to be comfortable in her role with her attention constantly around the facility and not on the children. None of the children in his class can swim on their own (hence why they are in swim lessons). I called the facility multiple times being promised a call back from the manager, I spoke to the front desk and I sent emails. No one ever got back to me. All I wanted was someone to assure me this would not happen again and the staff would be properly trained. My son was terrified for the remaining lessons and refused to get into the pool. My main purpose of this poor review is the lack of accountability from this facility. I only asked that instructors understand the risks involved and the lives they are responsible for during these lessons. We elect in swim lessons because we understand the dangers of water and it is not something to be taken lightly. Don't take your eyes off your children if they participate in lessons here.

Personally for how much you pay to go swimming you’d rather go to the Hillsboro or even clackamas pool. $9-10 for the smallest pools with no slides for (bigger kids/adults) and a hot tub that’s always broken. It’s $7.50 for Hillsboro which has 3 large pools (warm, cool indoors and a huge outdoor pool).
