We had a blast at Dakota Hot Spring. The staff was very welcoming and took time to explain everything to us. We watched a short video and signed an acknowledgement stating we understood the rules. Keep in mind it is a clothing optional hot spring. We only get one life so my husband and I chose to swim in our birthday suits. Everyone was well mannered and polite. After a while you forget your swimming in your birthday suit. The pool was the perfect temp and the pool is large enough they you can have space to yourself. I’d highly recommend this hot spring. The vibes were great and the people were friendly.

I hope I can give less than a start. Everything is a problem at this place. We want it to camp and have the hots springs close, but: 1.- If you camp there you have to pay all the sessions you want to be in the spring. 2.- Campground is terrible ugly, and a incredible mess. No hookups of anything, cat poop everywhere. 3.- There’s no water on the showers, just a little string of water. 4.- Crazy rules everywhere that after you are inside it doesn’t look like anyone is following. 5.- No kissing, touching, hugging on the pool, not even your love ones, but other people was doing it. 6.- No generators on the ugly campground are allow. Some random guy hit the camper to ask (scream us) to turned off. 7.- Staff is terrible rude, you can ask anything because the answer will be “I told you that” “those are the rules” or “no”. 8.- You are locked down in the campground from when they close till they want to wake up and open. 9.- The spring is horrible 4/10. 10.- I almost forgot the dead rat close to the pool. 11.- I think the rule of no phones is so you can’t take pictures of the horrible place. 12.- Over priced, 40$ for staying here with all those rules, campground at Lake Pueblo $28, no rules, no rude people, generators allow. And for $10 you get hookups. Definitely not the greatest experience, avoid this place if you can.

Rustic? That’s generous… but still worth the dip. Had a great time at Dakota Hot Springs, but let’s be real—when they say “rustic,” they mean “held together with duct tape and good vibes.” Only one of the two showers in the men’s bathroom worked, and the outdoor shower looked like it had gone into permanent retirement. The shade cloth overhead? Ripped, faded, and flapping in the breeze like an old sailboat begging for mercy. But the water—oh, the water—was spot-on. The big pool stayed at a perfect temp for lounging, and if you braved the “lobster pot” in the middle, you could slow-cook yourself like you were about to be served with butter and lemon. Plenty of chairs and space to sun yourself, which almost makes you forget the decor is more “backyard fixer-upper” than spa retreat. I went during a clothing-optional time, and let’s just say 80–90% of the folks were “free as the day they were born.” A few women wore bottoms, but otherwise, it was a birthday-suit convention. Ages ranged from 20-something guys to couples in their late 70s, all soaking happily. Everyone was super friendly—I had some genuinely great conversations that I probably wouldn’t have had at a fancier, towel-wrapped spa. Now, here’s the kicker: dusk. That’s when the mosquitoes clock in for their night shift. And trust me, these little vampires act like they haven’t eaten since last summer. I heard it’s from the stagnant dump water outside the pool, and they descend like a horror movie. Bring bug spray or prepare to do the “mosquito slap dance.” All in all, Dakota Hot Springs has its quirks—flapping tarps, retired showers, and winged predators—but it’s got character, it’s got charm, and it’s got water that’ll melt your stress away. Just don’t expect “spa chic.” This is hot springs country style—equal parts relaxation and comedy. And honestly? I can’t wait to go back.

Highly Disappointed. The fun is gone, today I felt Unsafe. We started attending family day quite regularly this year. Today a highly intoxicated woman kept mouthing curse words and making lewd body motions and hand gestures at my husband and I for absolutely no reason what so ever. We had 3 kids with us who had to watch it all. My husband reported her behavior immediately. The woman was told to get out of the pool but refused. This intoxicated woman should have been removed from the premises. If you do not like kids swimming then avoid Tuesdays. Simple. The woman was allowed to stay and stare at us the entire time making nasty faces. How Safe was I after being threatened over and over? If something were to have happened to me, how could we call for help, if my cell phone is in my car? The Safety of my kids and I really should have been Priority and it was not. Totally uncool. I will not return.

It's definitely not fancy but everyone is respectful and friendly. The water is warm and they have a super warm spot towards the center of it. There are no cameras allowed so no pictures to show. You are allowed snacks and a cooler and the bathrooms are hit or miss. It's super relaxing. Tuesday is family day so suits required the rest of the week is optional.
