The Hershey Community Pool, located at 605 Cocoa Ave, Hershey, PA 17033, is a prominent outdoor aquatic complex managed by Derry Township Parks and Recreation. Open seasonally, it features a large main pool, a diving well, and a zero-depth entry wading pool with a splash pad, catering to all ages with various swimming activities and lessons.
Information regarding the specific temperature of the pools at Hershey Community Pool is not consistently published or maintained as it is an outdoor, unheated facility, meaning water temperatures naturally fluctuate with ambient weather conditions.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool receives mixed reviews, highlighting both its strengths and significant weaknesses. On the positive side, it is generally described as a very nice facility with a good location and numerous amenities for children, including various slides, splash pads, diving boards, and indoor pool options, making it enjoyable for kids. However, several major concerns were raised. Visitors criticized the strict and inconsistently enforced rules, particularly regarding infant floaties (requiring unavailable 'clear' ones, with unhelpful staff), and prohibitions on activities like tossing kids, leading to a perception of it being a 'no fun' pool. A serious issue involved a report of theft where valuables were stolen, and management allegedly refused to assist, review camera footage, or return calls, raising significant safety and customer service concerns. Other drawbacks include expensive admission and snack bar prices, and one reviewer noted the pool's insufficient depth for certain relaxation needs.

Infant floaties are not allowed anymore unless they are clear! The audacity! I’ve never seen a clear infant floaty and they couldn’t tell us where to get one and the baby isn’t big enough for arm floaties. So now we have to play pass the baby just for the baby to enjoy the pool because normal infant floats will get you kicked out if they are not CLEAR! Lifeguards were no help they didn’t care to help us for a 1 year old. Apparently being safe in an infant floaty isn’t allowed but a baby slipping through your hands while in the pool is apparently safer. Boogie boards and noodles are allowed and they aren’t clear. The reasoning we were told is because it takes up too much space and the life guards can’t see the bottom of the pool. This makes sense for adults but as a parent, infants need to be safe too and this was not worth the money until infants can be safe I won’t waste my money and it’s a shame because it such a nice pool and my kids love it and I travel two hours regularly to come here. Image below shows some that aren’t allowed. I’d really like to know which infant floats are allowed, the supervisor didn’t even know. The supervisor would not look me in the eye either, and told me they kick families out for using floaties. This stinks because they have everything for kids that makes it fun. (Slides, basketball net, diving boards, splash pad, indoor pool, indoor splash pad slide)
BE VERY CAREFUL going here with your belongings. Had several hundred dollars stolen out of my wallet and a gemstone studded necklace that cost several hundred. The pool and community building so far has refused to assist or return calls, their was only one lady sitting anywhere close to us or within view aside from staff so I either know exactly who stole from me or it was staff. The pool/community center are refusing to review videos or assist in any way. Seems like it would take 5 minutes to fast forward through 3 hours of footage if they were not completely ignoring contact in person and via phone. If someone is allowed to steal and they are not worried about it seems very concerning. I should not have to file a police report to get camera footage. The pool should review the footage with me before I file a report as if their are no cameras theirs no point of a report and I feel like they are wasting my time as well as taxpayer funded time for the police going this route. Is this community center for or against the community?
Very nice pool in a good location. Only had 2 drawbacks. Admission and snack bar are very expensive but I guess because it's Hershey and the pool is not deep enough to hang freely from a noodle to relax the back which is a requirement for me because I have a bad back.
Very nice and welcoming place. Will definitely go again.
I call this place the NO FUN pool. After tossing kids in the air for a month they tell me today that I'm not allowed. Mean while other people are tossing kids all over the place. If you're looking for a good FUN pool I highly recommend the palmyra pool.
