Popular public pool with snack bars, dive boards and a slide.
Specific pool temperatures are not readily available in public descriptions. As a seasonal outdoor facility, the water temperature of the main pool is generally ambient, fluctuating with the weather conditions. Kiddie pools, being shallower, may naturally warm up more quickly.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool generally receives positive feedback for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and lack of crowding, offering a variety of pools (kids, lap, diving) suitable for all ages. Patrons appreciate the friendly staff, ample lifeguards, and additional amenities like grassy play areas, tetherball, 4-square, and a snack bar. A minor recurring complaint is the limited shade available closer to the pool areas. However, a significant negative concern highlights disruptive behavior from children associated with the 'Palmyra Rec' program, whose counselors are criticized for inadequate supervision. This behavior is reported to negatively impact the experience for other swimmers, particularly senior citizens, leading to calls for management to address the issue.
Reviews
Staff is friendly. 4 different pools. Kids, regular diving and lap. Plenty of space to stretch out. Wish there was more shade available closer to pool as the pavilions fill up quickly and the only other shade is back by the tree line. Kids love it here.
Clean with plenty of room. The number of patrons varies, but I have never felt it was crowded.
This is a great pool! I've been yo many pools, but this one is the best for bringing a wide range of kids. I was able to bring both my boys and not have to worry about them. The small kid 1 foot pool was perfect for my youngest and the 3ft+ area was a blast for my oldest. There was plenty of grass to run and play in between swimming, and the thetherball and 4 square Court is a nice thing to have too. The staff is friendly and there were plenty of lifeguards. I highly recommend
Clean and visible life guards at all times. 3 different areas to swim in. Not crowded and diving board is optional. Snack bar available too.
Another year, another summer, and another year of the annoying Palmyra Rec kids at the pool. What a bunch of unruly kids and camp consulars not doing their job by making sure their kids are being good. They sit on the benches talking to one another, having a good time , on their phones and not doing the job they were hired to do for by the Rec board. Another waste of our tax paying dollars hard at work, doing nothing. They expect the life gurards to keep their kids in control. Well thats not part of the lifeguards duties. That is the camp consulers job to do. I think the staff and managment of the pool needs to think seriously about letting the Rec board sending their unruly kids to the pool. They ruin it for all the swimmers, expically us senior citizens. When they announced that the rec kids needed to return to the pavillion to get ready to leave, I heard several people appulad. What does that tell you.
