About

MCCS Aquatics, located at 1533 5th St, Twentynine Palms, CA 92277, USA, is part of the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms. It provides a variety of aquatic programs and facilities for military personnel, their families, and other authorized patrons. Offerings typically include opportunities for lap swimming, open swim, swim lessons, water aerobics, and lifeguard training, utilizing both indoor and outdoor pool facilities to promote fitness and recreation.

The indoor pool at MCCS Aquatics is heated year-round to provide a comfortable environment for all aquatic activities. While specific temperature degrees are not publicly listed, such facilities generally maintain their indoor pools within a suitable range for swimming lessons, lap swimming, and water exercise. Information regarding the heating of outdoor pools, if available, is not readily specified.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? This USMC pool receives mixed reviews. Positively, it's noted for being open 7 days a week, having friendly staff, lifeguards on duty, and being a good place for recreational swimming and families, especially during less crowded weekend hours. It provides life vests and hosts special events. However, frequent complaints include inconvenient and limited operating hours for lap and recreational swimming, making it difficult for parents to bring children during the day. Many features, such as the water slide and diving platforms, are often reported as non-operational or inaccessible, leading to a restricted swimming experience (e.g., only 4 feet deep). Additionally, it's considered unsuitable for advanced military Water Survival Training due to a lack of specific equipment and restrictions on high-intensity activities.

The only pool on base open 7 days a week!! Great place to bring the kids also especially on the weekends because there are less people and the kids can play freely without worrying about them being too loud! Also great for recreational swimming. I highly recommend and I’ll return.

Hours aren't great- only open for lap swim 2 hours at a time and rec swim for 2 hours in the evening during the week. Would be nice to take the kids during the day. Haven't seen the slide working. Staff is friendly and they have live vests.

Worse USMC pool i've ever been to. This is more of a family pool and not for Water Survival Training despite being deeper than most other USMC pools. Little to no training equipment, no bricks, no high intensity aquatics allowed. Finally, the hours are unusual and inconvenient

Had so much fun at the "Eggstravaganza"! They do a swim test for the kiddos to go in the deeper part of the pool and not be accompanied by an adult. The swim test was treading water for 2 minutes, floating on your back for 1 minute, and swimming the distance of the pool. Water depth is 13 feet. Haven't gotten to try any of the other features yet, like the water slide, or diving platforms.

Could only swim in 4 feet. No diving , no water slide, no fun ....just the water. Nonetheless, the pool is clean , provides a place to shower, and lifeguards are always on duty.
