The NMMI Swimming Pool, also known as the NMMI Natatorium, is a prominent indoor aquatic facility located at 101 W College Blvd, Roswell, NM. Operated by the New Mexico Military Institute, it is primarily designed for competitive swimming, training, and recreational use, featuring a large pool with multiple lanes suitable for various aquatic activities.
Specific pool temperatures for the NMMI Swimming Pool are not consistently published on readily available public sources. However, as a standard competitive and training natatorium, similar facilities typically maintain water temperatures for lap swimming and competitive events within the range of 78-82°F (approximately 25.5-27.7°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The NMMI pool is generally well-regarded for its clear water, large swimming lanes, diving board, and spacious deep end, with public access and reasonably priced memberships. However, several issues are noted: rude staff when calling, a desire for a Jacuzzi to warm up in winter, and significant inconsistencies in lifeguard rules across different shifts, which can lead to frustrating experiences. A major drawback is the frequent shortage of lifeguards, which often prevents the pool from being used. Other gym facilities are described as having an 'old school gym vibe'.

Don't bother calling. Rude staff that answers
This is been rather exciting for me to start going back to a gym again. I love swimming. I really do like the NMMI pool.... I wish however there was a Jacuzzi to warm me when I'm swimming because, in the wintertime...I get very cold in the water...
NMMI is a college but they have public pool hours. You can either pay or sign up for a membership. The price for a pool membership is not bad. It is better than paying everytime you go in my opinion.
The pool is good-clear water, big swimming lanes, fun diving board and lots of room to swim in the deep end. But each of the life gaurds have thier own different sets of rules to follow on different nights - so that's where it gets complicated. So if you memorize each set of rules you might enjoy becoming good friend's with the employee's at the pool, if not you may unfortunately be dissapointed with thier behavior towards you. Please enjoy yourselves, it is very delightful other than that!
I would give it 4 or 5 stars but they seem to have a shortage of lifeguards. Without lifeguards you can't use the swimming pool. The rest of the facilities are ok you get and old school gym vibe.
