What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the pool facility are mixed, but often highlight significant issues. Positives frequently mentioned include a great/awesome pool and clean bathrooms. Some visitors also praised friendly staff and good pricing. However, major criticisms revolve around an unfair refund and rain check policy, especially concerning lightning closures that prevent pool use shortly after entry without compensation. Multiple reviewers reported rude staff, particularly regarding the slide's operation, and found the pool's operating hours to be too limited and impractical given local weather patterns. Other concerns include having to pay for entry even if not swimming, and issues with the slide's maintenance or unexplained closures. These negative experiences led several patrons to express frustration and state they would not return.

The pool is great, clean bathroom, but the policy about refunds is wrong if the employees allow to come into the pool knowing that there is storms in the area that are producing lightning then they shouldn’t allow you in cause we paid went in grabbed a table and as soon as we sat down the lighting detector went off and we sat there for more than 30 minutes waiting to be allowed in the pool but never had the chance to get into the pool. We should have been allowed a refund since we didn’t even get into the water. I understand if we were in the water and then had to get out of the pool that’s different. They offered a rain check but this was our last day in ruidoso we leave tomorrow morning. I paid $15.00 just to have to sit in a chair for an hour.
Swimming pools great one of the staff members was very rude for no reason she was working the slide earlier today and then the concession stand during break:/
Awesome. Not crowded and fun. Staff is amazing and the slide is great!
Have gone to the pool with my family when I was younger, but have never been a fan myself. Well a lot has changed. Used to be a much friendlier atmosphere. If it rained they would give you a raincheck (which makes sense because you can't control the weather) and if you weren't going to swim they wouldn't charge you. I had to pay entry even if I wasn't going to swim. No more rain checks and seemed like it was going to rain (of course the rains were happening midday and guess what, pool hours are 11-4:30). The only thing to do for the kids in Ruidoso and the hours are absolutely ridiculous because it's only open the summer and it rains, so you are out of luck. If there is lightning within 10 miles you have to get out of the pool for half an hour after the alarm sounds. Anyway, my daughter thought the pool was a bit cold so my husband convinced her to do the slide, (steps were always very old like the wood could give out any moment and doesn't look like they have been fixed in the 15 years since I've been on it) it was probably 11:20 (open at 11) they went to get the rubber mats and were told very rudely that it was closed without explanation, we were surprised because they just opened and there was kids going down on it just a little bit ago. There was probably around 6 employees in the front counter so you can't say they are short handed. Either way our daughter decided to go in and of course the alarm rings a minute later to get out, we left after that, not worth our time or money. Will not be coming again. So sad this is what the town has to offer.
Great pool! Restrooms clean, staff friendly great price! Highly recommend!
